Clattenburg admits to referee bias towards United

I’m sure he gave Rooney a hug after that.

Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

Just checked. Kyle Walker was nearly two when Steve Bruce (now aged 62) brought down David White. Johnny Evans would have been 4. No other player in City or United’s match day squad was born.

    Liverpool Thread - 2021/22

If it was true then I’m not sure if the press could go public with it. The TUE would be signed off by a club doctor and the medical records of each player should be private.

    5 subs from next season

I think it could help the weaker teams if they used their subs in a smart way. Either they can risk being more physical because if they pick up an early yellow card they can swap that player for someone with a clean slate or they can ask their players to run and chase harder knowing they can...

    Media Thread - 2021/22

I really like Sam Lee. I was dubious about him being a United fan at the beginning but he definitely won me round with his content. I think this is either the United fan coming through or he’s being pushed by The Athletic to take this new stance. It pretty much isolates him from City fans and...

    City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Does this mean that Tariq Panja will be announcing all our future sponsorship deals before they actually happen? I honestly can’t see past a premier league team finding a sponsor then having to tell everyone in the premier league who they’re thinking about working with, then before anything is...

    United Thread - 2021/22

Each time they lost a game of football the referee wasn’t allowed to be in charge of one of their games for 9/12 months. Usually when they return from their “suspension” United would receive a penalty or the opposing team would get a red card.

Match of the Day - 2020/21

Yeah, he’s probably right! United probably will win their remaining 25 games and win the league with 93 points. Fairly sensible prediction when you think it through.

    Frenkie de Jong

Could he play left back in the way Cancelo does and move inside into midfield when we have possession?

Thanks Pep for calling out the ref (and Liverpool fans)

My opinion is that Liverpool FC are going to deny that anything happened. “Liverpool say they have substantial evidence relating to Manchester City's claim that a supporter spat at a member of staff, and it could be passed on to police.” They could show lots of footage of City’s staff not...

Players lying down behind the wall on free kicks

Yeah. But what happens if the attackers lie down there first. Does the wall have to avoid them? or could they lie down in the 6 yard box to stop the keeper diving. i’m being silly now but I wouldn’t put it past some teams.

Players lying down behind the wall on free kicks

If defending players can lie down 10 yards away from the ball to block the low shot… Is there anything to stop attacking players from lying down where they would think that the defending team would want to place their wall?

UEFA to propose FFP replacement plan

So if City or any team from England who has qualified for Europe wants to sign a player then we have to give all the details of any potential transfer to David Gill to authorise (so he can decide if United want to Gazump the transfer). Might as well stick Baconface in the VAR room to make real...

    Ref Watch

Because they make it up as they go along... If that foul by Lallana on Jesus was on the half way line it could potentially have been a red card. He was out of control and over the ball. VAR can ask the ref to have a look at a potential red card.

    VAR - 2020/21

I would pay extra for that. Maybe that’s what the Premier League/ the TV companies want to hear? Genuinely though, I’d pay to be able to understand what was happening at the game I was watching. If you’re at the ground and they’re reviewing a possible red card, they don’t tell you anything...

    VAR - 2020/21

Does the match commander even exist? We know Foden should have had a penalty and we know Andy Madley was on VAR. City/City fans may not have ever forgiven Madley for that seemingly corrupt decision. If Madley got Mark Halsey to muddy the water with talk of a match commander who overruled him...

    VAR - 2020/21

MEN has United fans as reporters, The Athletic has a United fan as City correspondent. Is there a City friendly journalist that could be prompted into following up more on this? Nobody seems to care because it’s City that were affected in this instance but it looks like match fixing to me. The...
