    West Ham United (A) - Sat 31st August, 17:30 | PL | Pre-Match Thread

Whilst there may not be out and out forward options on the bench, bringing on either Gundogan or Rodri and pushing De Bruyne further up the pitch would be a pretty attacking move.

    West Ham United (A) - Sat 31st August, 17:30 | PL | Pre-Match Thread

An already difficult game just got harder. Hopefully we’ll just pass them to death, as there’s not a lot of pace in that team.

    West Ham United (A) - Sat 31st August, 17:30 | PL | Pre-Match Thread

Big chance for Grealish to stake a claim for regular starting place again today. Hope he steps up, as that bench looks a bit light in terms of attacking options.

Won’t be easy this. They had a good win at Palace last week, and have some quality players in Kudus, Paqueta, Bowen etc. That said, Villa gave them the run around on the opening day so hopefully we can get three points in the bag before the international break.

    Alvarez replacement thread

I've got a feeling it'll be Foden mainly as the false 9. He's probably the best finisher at the club after Haaland, and will be a real threat in a free role up front.

    Alvarez replacement thread

Obviously Pep and Txiki know best, but it certainly feels like a risk going into the season with only one centre-forward. Be interesting to see what the contingency plan is when Haaland is rested or isn't available.

    87 | James McAtee - 2024/25

Really pleased that he's staying, and delighted for him if reports of a new deal are true. Hopefully with the additional games this season he'll get opportunities.

    Champions League Draw - 29th August '24 | Opponents (pg69) | Fixtures (pg128)

I'm not sold on the new format, especially the two additional fixtures, but I guess it's thrown up more interesting games as promised, on paper at least. Have to wait and see if the tournament improves as a result.

England Squad - Sept 2024 | Foden Withdrawn

Really pleased for Lewis, he's had a great start to the season. Can't be doing with these international breaks so early in the season though.

City are the most watched Team in the World

Not bad for a team with no fans. Coincidentally, the company responsible for this research (Nielsen) also help the PL judge their APT fair value rules. City argued in the recent course case that they had conflicts of interest.

Looks like Rodri was involved in training today, but not sure if he’ll be rushed back into action on Saturday.

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

I’d be more than happy with either of them. Can’t really see either happening though.

Can see it being an unchanged starting XI for a third game in a row. Maybe Gundogan in for Kovacic if he hasn't recovered from his knock.

Carabao Cup R3 Draw | Watford (H) | Tues 24th Sept, 49 hours after Arsenal

Ha, I'm the same. Used to always want home draws to give us a better chance of silverware, but sometimes these midweek, early round cup games can be a bit of a chore.

Raheem Sterling | Arsenal Player (on loan)

Probably would've felt worse if he'd gone direct to United from us, but that stop gap at Chelsea means I'm not really bothered if he joins them. He's past his best, and will probably have limited opportunities there anyway with Rashford, Garnacho and Diallo all probably ahead of him in the...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Maybe reading too much into it, but watching the actual video of those quotes and there’s a confidence, almost smugness, about him. He certainly does not look worried.
