I broadly agree. It's hard not to think it's politically motivated to create maximum damage.
Historically Stefan disregards all politics, innuendo, conspiracy theory etc irrespective of how much weight we might put on it and sticks to the legal interpretaion.
@Dribble What moomba says.
It doesn't come over in that Sun piece but he has consistently and repeatedly highlighted the very high bar for the PL to get this shit through. See his huge contribution to this thread and his podcast/spaces work.
Before CAS there were all his very detailed articles...
Not quite, we are 3rd behind United and Liverpool for PL TV audences. But it is a fact 5 of the 6 most viewed PL games in the last 4 seasons involved City.
When PL/domestic games are combined with European games, we had our best ever viewing figures last season AND WERE THE MOST WATCHED TEAM...
Really? This is contrary to leading sports lawyers who shaped the 2-4 year narrative before concluded. What have they missed?
Stefan's take has always been that it will take an age:
Aren’t we just sorting the transfer of that wonder kid from Leeds?
Aside from that we are investing money big time. Just the small matter of the £300m north stand extension/hotel for starters.
Then CFG have the joint venture for the arena which will be to our benefit. £180 mil for that...
It's been more or less double for years.
There matchday income has been in the range £107m - £111m from 2016-2022 (except covid impacted).
Ours has been in the £50+m range over the same period before hitting £70+mil this year.
I don't know why theirs has jumped.
Me thinks a but of bull there from Danny and Roel.
The first 2 games with current availability are:
Burnley available from £61
Villa available from £61
No!
Still mainly good value compared to awful matchday pricing for tickets.
They doubled the number of matchday memberships in the year as well.
Every penny counts as far as they are concerned..
No.
Those listed above are the standard income streams excluding any profit from transfers. The profit for City was £121.7 million in 22/23 which is added in at the profit and loss level.
Net spend of £84million on transfers in the current year and NOT in these accounts.
IN Kovacic, Gvardioil, Doku and Nunes
OUT Mahrez, Palmer, Laporte, Borges, Trafford, Charles, Rogers, Herrera, Mebude, Mcnamara
