    19 | Ilkay Gundogan - 2024/25

Chasing the ball isn’t his forte and he did get caught in possession a couple of times but he completed 95% of his passes, made 4 key passes and 3 tackles.

    31 | Ederson - 2024/25

I don’t know of a keeper who was a better football player. Credit to MotD this evening for highlighting how good he is. His vision and choice of pass is absolutely outstanding, as is his execution of passes. Some good goalkeeping today too. Thought he was a bit unlucky on their goal.

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

Only (only!) two goals today but one of his very best performances for us. Outstanding work rate, in fact I started to get concerned that he should conserve some energy.

Brentford (H) - PL | Post Match Thread

That Brentford gave such a good account of themselves but could have ended up being battered by City shows how up for it City were.

The Album Review Club - Week #146 - (page 1935) - Ocean Rain - Echo and the Bunnymen

So onto this week's review. I could have just agreed with Rob but I did make some notes so might as well use them. It's an odd mix that sounds like Glen made it at home (lofi indeed). Actually it sounds like two different bands (both shite) made it using random number generators. I only like...

No apology necessary, except for making my eyes get a little moist.

    City’s New Kits

4th kit is just about ok. Don't think it will look bad on when the team play in it. not sure why it is getting an outing at home (marketing aside) but so long as they win wearing it.

Classic Rock (Phil Collins lives, run for the hills)

I've just played the new JA&BGs album for the first time, wasnn't giving it undivided attention, but it sounds good. Jon's voice is mixed high and sounds remarkably good for his age. The music is very Yes-like. It does rather emphasise the importance of Jon's voice to Yes and, yes, he is more...

The Album Review Club - Week #146 - (page 1935) - Ocean Rain - Echo and the Bunnymen

So did Rick get it right with his attempt to invent Yacht Rock? Well, it’s not quite Yacht Rock but it has the mellow if not quite the right melody. I was rather underwhelmed the first time I played this album when I purchased the 2023 release and it is definitely an album that reveals its...

    James Earl Jones passes away

One of the most iconic voices and a key part of making Darth Vader an iconic movie character. R.I.P.

    John/Taupin v Lennon/McCartney

It was the use of E Street band members on Bat Out of Hell that drew me back to Springsteen.

    Oasis reunion

Zak is a really good drummer. Seen him live several times. He is excellent with The Who, which a tougher gig than Oasis, and he has held that spot down for yonks now.
