    8 | Mateo Kovačić - 2024/25

Hasn't been good enough. Not his fault because he's playing a role not really suitable for his skill set. Good squad player but limited in a starting role without someone like Rodri.

    20 | Bernardo Silva - 2024/25

    That was a tough watch.

Sporting CP (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Reminded me of the 5-2 beating against Leicester a few years ago. I think in 2020. I remember we conceded like 2-3 penalties and just played so poor.

We're a very soft team without Rodri, Dias and Kev.

Midfield horrendous. Without Dias, no accountability/leadership in the back 4. Need the international break NOW to settle stuff down.

    We're pretty awful.

Bernardo and Kova have both been very poor. We should be up. Overall played decent. JSP should have done better for the goal. Needs to settle a bit.

    17 | Kevin De Bruyne - 2024/25

Kev is gonna win us the league. I can feel it in my bones. Just get fit my Ginger King.

    47 | Phil Foden - 2024/25

I didn't watch the second half initially at all. So I just rewatched the entire game. It was pretty bad but we had chances. Team seems knackered.

    47 | Phil Foden - 2024/25

Rewatched the game and Phil...wasn't that bad. He's a bit off his game but it's close. I am feeling hopeful. Need more energy in the midfield to free him up though.

    Florian Wirtz

I agree. I'd be super giddy for Wirtz. He's the guy we perfectly need.

    The Squad planning thread

A lot of CL bonuses were handed out to players per their contract and/or to some of their former teams which had CL add-ons in the transfer fees. That could explain some of it. Plus while City has generally been a club that reinvests profits into the team, it's possible some of that money could...

    The Squad planning thread

Just curious, what do you guys think is a realistic (and appropriate) window for cycling out players? Meaning given the small time between CWC and the start of new PL season, is it reasonable to cycle out and replace 3 players? 4? 5? Or more? In terms of squad planning to phase out some...

You can add Trent to that list too. Both him and Davies are 100% going to Madrid.

I agree. If we're playing at Anfield or the Bernabeu, there is no player I'd rather have. He just seems so perpetually exhausted.

    Right back options……

Diomande for right sided "Gvardiol" for me. Josko is better but Diomande is the closest for me that can fit that bill. Big, quick, powerful, good on ball ability.

    The Squad planning thread

Players we need to cycle out: - Stones (love him but too injury prone and doubt that improves now he's 30) - Ake (love him as well but too injury prone and will be 30 in February.) - Walker (34 and in a decline) - Bernardo (love him but playing 7 straight years of 50+ games has left him...

    5 | John Stones - 2024/25

Plantar fasciitis is a tough injury. Tends to linger. I love John but unfortunately he will need to be one of the players we might need to cycle out in the summer. Great player when fit but too brittle.

    17 | Kevin De Bruyne - 2024/25

We need him back ASAP. No Rodri and Phil in a funk. Kevin is the only other game changer / match winner on the team. Injuries aside, there have been some inefficiencies in the game since the treble but he gives the team swagger and brings aura (even though I hate that word). He's KDB. He...

    Sporting CP (A) - Tue 5th Nov, 20:00 | CL | Pre-Match Thread

Not with us but he had a midfield presence both at Sporting and Wolves. Perhaps we see a bit more now that he has gained some confidence (albeit at LW rather than MF).
