    Chelsea Thread - 2023/24

Hello chaps. I had to self-impose a 'no football talk' period upon myself for a while due to work suddenly becoming very intense, which thankfully it still is. But seeing as we just played out what many are saying will be looked back on as a bit of a classic, I thought I'd drop by :) Wow, what...

Yep, same! My sons always tell me I have too many Chelsea players in my FPL team, and they're absolutely right of course [emoji23]

It's a media presentation. When do they not go overboard?

I think it's a little early to ask that question. After ten games if Sterling is the only guy pushing then yes, its valid. But right now it's simply a case for us to be thankful that Raz has remembered how to harness his best attributes, and hope that our chemistry develops.

    Is that an FPL perspective?!

I didn't realise that, but it makes perfect sense imo. You need a tight group.

Thanks for taking the lead on that @Vialli98, as my up-to-date knowledge isn't nearly so specific. I really think that having a manageable squad size is critical to success, regardless of whether you're Prem elite or Sunday amateurs. I think that perhaps it's as important as the actual quality...

You've pretty much nailed my perspective towards Poch/my club. Appreciated [emoji109]

Hard to mount a credible argument against your often used 'basket case' tag at this moment [emoji23]

    Chelsea Thread - 2023/24

Haha, fair point! And you're right, not an argument. Apologies. I think the original mistake was mine in that the subject for me was Poch and his relatively low level experience compared to Pep, but it was ham-fisted and probably deserved the response it got. It was never my intention to add...

No, you haven't interpreted my post fairly. You've interpreted what you wanted to to fit your narrative, which for the record I get and I'm sure happens alot, but in my case, you're anger is misplaced. My original post was actually to defend Poch as a good coach, and nothing more. I guess I...

And btw, I absolutely agree with your second and third paragraphs. The last paragraph is a bit left field, but I get your point. We're not disagreeing.

    Chelsea Thread - 2023/24

No point in actually trying to interpret someone's post fairly when you can instead opt for an 'I love Pep and anyone who says he's not perfect in every way is gonna get my ire' rant, eh?! All I said is that it would be interesting to see him manage at a club without resources. That's it. Just...

I'm happy with Poch. I believe that it's his coaching that encouraged Raz to get back to what he does best on Sunday, ie taking players on. It's easy to take a pop at managers who've actually done a superb job at clubs like Southampton and Spurs where the chequebook isn't always on hand. Pep...

That's disappointing. I'll certainly bare your insight in mind the next time I click on one of their articles.

Fair point, and one I wholeheartedly agree with. Imho 'covert' racism is arguably worse, or at least more dangerous. I honestly haven't read such things in the Guardian and certainly not in the article most recently referenced, but as I said, I don't read it that often.

Yes you do. Not sure how much, but I believe it's a decent chunk of change.

It's not officially done, but apparently it's happening. Ironically Lavia was disappointed that Liverpool made a late move for Caicedo, which made him feel like a fallback option.

I just read the article you referenced. I don't see what your issue is.

    Chelsea Thread - 2023/24

I can certainly see why both players and managers would want to extend their stay at City. For me the overriding feeling I get from your club is one with a singular purpose from bottom to top. It's a spectacular set-up. Do you think Pep will stay beyond his current deal (end of next season?)...
