    Chelsea Thread - 2023/24

It's interesting to me to consider that by hammering City the Prem are apparently hurting themselves. However, when you also consider the arrogance and hubris of organisations like the Prem, I suspect that City's worth, so obvious to the ordinary man, is invisible to them. I believe they think...

Who knows. Conspiracy is a popular theme on these boards. Maybe you're right. For me I prefer to at least start with the less dramatic explanation, and work from there.

Always standing together with City vs all red infidel [emoji109] I don't think we're bluffing. The matter is fully resolved in UEFA's eyes now. In a statement, Uefa said: "Following the club’s sale in May 2022, the new ownership identified, and proactively reported to Uefa, instances of...

    Chelsea Thread - 2023/24

Obviously you guys are all comparing this issue to your own ongoing one. One big difference between us is that our new owners noticed incomplete financial information in historic accounts and reported it immediately to UEFA. City's stance is, as I understand it, that they've done nothing wrong...

    Chelsea Thread - 2023/24

I'm happy with how we're shaping up. To avoid any confusion with fans of City, I'm not suggesting we are challenging at the top. That's just not anywhere close to realistic right now imo. My happiness is for a fresh start, a new possibility, and some joy at watching my team hopefully growing...

I attended in the eighties as a young kid, as I already mentioned today in an earlier post. As my biggest follower I'd have thought you'd have read that! :) Look, it's all good. I respect my elders, even when they're insulting me! I believe this season is our worst because it hasn't just been...

You've instantly dismissed my opinion. And insulted me also with name calling before we'd even interacted. And all because I have a different opinion about my team than you do about my team?! Is that where your years of experience have led you to sir? I hope I'm kinder than that when I get old.

Haha. How arrogant are you to be telling a Chelsea fan how they should feel about any given Chelsea season? I certainly wouldn't have the brass neck to be telling City fans anything about what they've lived through supporting their team. Thanks for following me though.

100 per cent. Lavia would be a far better move. Caicedo is very good, but he's not worth 70m imho, let alone 80. I really hope we walk away from this crazy situation. Has been going on far too long already.

Brighton, I suspect, think they can just hold tight until we fold. I feel that we have to take a leaf out of City's book, and walk away if they won't accept 80m. Caicedo has already publicly objected to the money Brighton are demanding, but then again he signed a new long term deal only 6...

I'd have made a full and final ages ago. Even 80m is a bit on the rich side for me. Time to look at other options, which I'm sure we have.

I hope so. If we continue to improve and gel as a team but miss out on top 4 I think that should be seen as acceptable. Maybe making the Europa places would be more realistic. As fans we just have to accept that what's happened to us since Putin invaded Ukraine has been seismic, and we just...

That must have been difficult to swallow. For us we were so abysmal last season, with players who obviously had already decided mid-season they were off elsewhere (Mount, Havertz, Kovacic, Pulisic etc.) that the risk vs reward for us actually makes more sense I think.

I'd be the first to admit that top 4 is a big ask for this young group. For me it's a target purely because of where Chelsea have expected to be in the last 20 years. What we've done in shipping out so many experienced players and replacing them with very young prospects is high risk. But many...

    Chelsea Thread - 2023/24

How do you figure that? If you're going to mention seasons from many moons ago, my opinion as a life long fan is that it's relative to the level you've attained in recent years. I've heard many times of late people saying 'you were worse in the eighties'. But we were not at a top level then...

Totally agree. He has also been good, at one point, at taking on defenders. I remember being super impressed with him at City at how he'd seemingly been 'on the weights' and become much tougher. He seems to have lost that a little now.

I'm not even engaging in this WUM attempt. You're entitled to your opinion. You're even entitled to do your best to start an argument as you have. But equally, I'm entitled to be excited to see our team, which has possibly seen the biggest shake up of personnel ever in Prem history show some...
