I posted on here a couple of days after the still-warming last day of the season match, and I was of the view that the rags (and baconface, in particular) would come out fighhting. History has shown that over the past 20 years when they've been threatened (Blackburn, Arsenal, Chelsea) they go...

    PSG

I think a few of my French followers have missed the point of my post by the length of the Champs Elysee'! I said Paris is not a football city. I stand by that. PSG average 40,000 fans... that's not too bad. But when you condider that the profesional clubs in London (a similar sized city)...

Nah, he said that he'd stopped reading a certain newspaper article when it mentioned the rags were signing RvP... that's more than just an indifference to the rags signing him! And all the Dutch references? Don't you people come on Bluemoon enough?

Nah, he's stated that they don't have the money... and £50m deals for players don't just appear overnight at the whim of a manager.

    Dixon leaves BBC

Alan Hansen's two stock phrases when "analysing" a game... 1. A goal is scored... "The back four has to be in a straight line..." 2. When a team score against a back four that was a straight line... "One of them has to come out and meet the attacker..." Money for old rope. And if the twat had...

Tolm has stated unequivocally that RvP is not going to the rags. And why should anyone think differently?

    Adebayour to spurs 8 mil?

Re: Adebayor Hmmm... I say that the reason why we paid Adebayor the ludicrous sum of £170k a week (allegedly) is because it was the only way we could get him to sign for us. He was the best option for us at the time. I suggested that otherwise we'd have ended up with Rodallega or Bent had...

    Adebayor back at Carrington yesterday.

I agree with all of that... apart from the final sentence. I think we'll blink first, unfortunately. I'm sure there will be a compromise deal but, if necessary, Adebayor will do a "Bridge" and refuse to budge if he doesn't get what he wants. Can't we give Spurs some tracksuits or football...

To be fair he's got a point. What he's saying is actually correct. Go on, prove him wrong... And using videos to make your point... don't you have a go at Tolmie for that!

    Adebayour to spurs 8 mil?

Re: Adebayor Yeah, he'd have jumped at leaving Milan to come to mid-table City for £100k a week... Be serious mate.

-- Wed Jul 18, 2012 8:55 pm --

I'm not sure why everyone seems to get hung up on what fee we should pay for a player and whether or not he's worth certain...

    Adebayour to spurs 8 mil?

Re: Adebayor I understand that's what City offered... and the deal fell through because we wouldn't pay Ade's taxi to the station!

We're going round in circles here mate. Who says "Citry are obsessed by FFPR"? The only ones obsessed seem to be on this forum. The club know what they are doing, it's no biggie. PSG and Chelsea also have few worries. The FFPR is simply a warning shot across the bows for those clubs who spend...

That was precisely my point! Well said that man! It's a managerial decision as to what we spend now. Nowt to do with FFPR.

Winning the Champions League WAS worth £100m to Chelsea. Their winnings were circa £50m, qualifying for this years Champions League is worth a minimum of another £30m, and they generated another £20m for new sponsorship deals on the back of it. I agree that our squad depth isn't strong enough...

    PSG

And of that massive thronging crowd I reckon less than a couple of them actually go to PSG matches! I was in Paris recently, and they have absolutely no interest in football. For a city the size of Paris, they have one senior club (London has about 14!) and they struggle to attract over 40,000...

Does it not cross your mind that it may actually be the owners who have decided not to spend £100m a year from now on in? That they might, crazy as it sounds, be looking at City as an investment rather than a charity? How do you KNOW we missed out on Hazard for financial reasons? You don't...
