Match Thread | Man City vs Brentford (12/11/22)

If that’s a free kick then we should have had at least 8 penalties today.

Fair fucks to Brentford. They’ve outfought us in every department so far. We need to wake up.

    Chelsea (H) - Carabao Cup | Post-Match Thread

Flexed our muscles tonight and beat a top side. I know people have commented on the amount of chances we conceded but you have to factor in Chelsea finished with a very strong side and we left a lot of players out.

    Fulham (H) | PL | Post-Match

They should be grateful that we stopped Fulham pulling clear of them.

Huge three points that. There’s always games in a season where everything seems against you. A man down, 2 offside goals, ref not calling blatant fouls etc. To keep going and come away with the win will be a huge boost. Will also be a blow to our rivals.

IMO, Cancelo does not attempt to play the ball which is why he’s been given a red. It’s harsh though because I don’t think he’s deliberately trying to take the man out either, certainly not in a cynical way. Defenders regularly defend by getting tight and outmuscling attackers. I think it’s...

Arguably more impressive than his goal, is the runs Lewis has been making. Slightly frustrating how Mahrez and Dias constantly prefer to hit aimless long balls into a box than pick him out.

It’s fair to say that overall Grealish has been average at best since he’s joined us. However, Pep’s management of him is strange. He constantly drops him when he’s in good form and subs him when arguably been our best player in the first half.

I think Palmer needs to go out wide in the second half. It’s strange because whenever he’s played wide right he looks dangerous. Even that cross at the end came from him being there. Yet whenever he’s in the middle he’s completely anonymous.

It’s games like this where we miss a pacy wide player.

Said fuck all about the previous two stonewallers we had turned down as well.

    Media thread 2022/23

To be fair he’s spot on about worrying about critics. Who gives a fuck the what some shitty no mark journalist or bitter ex-player thinks about us? Football makes the rational minded person irrational. The sooner people realise that no amount of facts nor evidence is going to convince the...

    Ref Watch

I agree but I do think that referees have to adapt their standards to VAR or allow VAR to be used in accordance with their standards. Refs allowing the game to flow is simply incompatible with VAR. Unless we all agree that sequences which lead to goals should be judged completely different to...

    Liverpool (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

They didn’t outplay us but Klopp certainly outsmarted Pep today. I mean that in the sense that his tactical approach paid off and Pep’s didn’t. Every man and his dog knows that Liverpool play the long ball, fast counter against us. Yet a situation panned out where a long ball put Salah in a one...

    Liverpool (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

I thought we played well and deserved at least a point. Ref was very inconsistent and let things go that were a lot more blatant fouls than the disallowed goal which is frustrating. Typical Cancelo though. He’s either world class or utter wank, there’s no middle ground with him. He’s...

Grealish is looking like one of our senior players tonight. Great to see him playing with such confidence.

Match Thread | Man City vs FC Copenhagen (05/10/22)

Gomez is a very similar player to Zinchenko but has a much better cross on him. Looking like a very astute signing by the club. Then again, we signed Gomez, Akanji and Alvarez for for around £50 million. Compared to Chelsea who bought Sterling, Cucurella and Fofana for just under £200 million...

United (H) | Post Match Thread

Best first half I’ve ever seen from us. Attacking football at the very highest level. Second half we were average at best and I think Pep was happy to rest players at the expense of conceding a few consolation goals.

    10 | Jack Grealish - 2022/23 Performances

I think his performance yesterday explained Pep’s comments about not judging Jack solely for goals and assists. For me, his biggest quality is being the player to make the pass that turns possession into a promising attack. Almost David Silvaesque in getting the assist to the assist. You look...
