Adam Bate has been writing some good pieces on Sky Sports' website for years now anyway and it's not the first time he did a positive piece about City, which is only normal given our form and everything.
I hope if we get through and get Chelsea or United in the semis, Pep will stick to a second string team, but I'd guess he will. It wouldn't exactly be a disaster if we go out though, and maybe finally we get to see Brahim or Foden...
Does anyone have the full lyrical context of Pep's "Carabo Cup ball" rant? I'd like to see whether it was in direct response to something like why we couldn't score, or it's just Jamie Jackson and the lads misusing his quotes.
Lovely how it wasn't suspicious to them that there can be an actual valid reason that both games where there was extra time had some additional subs...
Yes, I thought he was very good and full of energy. Both defended and attacked well when needed. His final ball (cross) was a bit off but it's not the easiest thing when in full flow, so whatever.
I thought he was just undecisive and paid the price, but maybe you're right. On his second big error (where Tosin saved us), it was a definite delibarete push and foul, but the thing is that this happens so many times with Mangala as I guess refs also bought into the (slightly justified...) hype...
Fuck's sake.
With that in mind, it's likely that we will see a front three of something like Sterling, Jesus, Aguero, which really should be enough to 'offset' te awkawrdness of a Zinchenko-Mangala-Tosin-Danilo defense. :)
I thought if anything, in the second half it was just physical tiredness that set in as he not only misjudged that tackle but also miscontrolled a relatively easy ball which then evolved into that Stones block. But other than (I know it sounds silly) he was amazing, like that through pass to...
Not even the first touch but his touches after he seemingly controlled the ball. Quite a few chances wasted like that. But I'd consider it as a day off and I'm not too sure whether it would help in any way should he rest on Saturday.
He's immense. It's just the logical conclusion that he made that block to Hamsik's shot after all these commanding performances. His decision-making and passing is a joy to watch currently. He just can't make a bad decision at this moment.
He genuinely reminded me of Vinnie too, probably for the first time since he's with us, while there is no doubt the has been brilliant whole season. But on Saturday, his no nonsense tackle-winning approach was totally spot on.
I always felt this once they were being viewed as favourites to sign him. Didn't understand that signing by the time and feared for the worst for the lad. Ideally he would be a second striker or something like that in a 4-2-3-1 (or something like that :), but this direct 4-4-2 is just meh.
