    Kylian Mbappe

Exactly. If he's the chairman, surely the Interview is rehearsed and edited etc. There's no way he's been blind sided by an in-house interviewer.

Thanks for that, I had no idea. Makes sense now. Although that's still robbery.

    It's Quiet - a new dawn

I know what our situation will be but why would we decide on a player who is currently valued at 70m? He is either going to be worth more next summer, or he will be worth less. If he's worth even more, it's unlikely that we would touch him, as his current asking price isn't close to being 'value...

    It's Quiet - a new dawn

Why would we wait a year? The current asking price is already around 70m. He will either have another great season and his value will go up even more, or he will have a moderately good season and he won't be deemed good enough for us.

    Alexis Sanchez

They might. If he stays, they have a good chance of a top four finish which is worth more to them than a transfer fee.

I would have liked us to have gone in for Sule. There's a lot of bargains to be had in Germany. Great young players are scattered around the league. It's a market we should 've deeply invested in. Dahoud has gone from Gladbach for absolute peanuts.

    Centre back options

We were looking at him earlier on in the season. He was considered an option as an alternative to Laporte but we held fire and went with Stones. We like what we see with him but a few of Pep's targets changed due to a realisation that there are more long ball duels in the PL. Martinez has been...

    Alexis Sanchez

There's nothing to turn our attention to. In general everything is agreed with the player, hence Alexis' ridiculous demands to PSG. We're at an advantage with PSG pursuing Neymar aswell as they will struggle to commit to another financially huge deal....hence the relatively low opening offer of...

    Media Thread 2017/18

I've been watching PL years on Sky catch up and we only seem to feature if we've lost.

    Centre back options

Inigo Martinez has been looked at but decided against due to his height. Fits the bill for a Pep side but Pep has spoken a lot lately about 'headed duels' being important in England.I think we are likely to look at a squad player.

    Samir Nasri

He makes me mad. He is so good when he wants to be. The west ham game last season when he came on and grabbed control over the game have a glimpse of what he could still offer but for some reason, he doesn't seem to want it.

    Danilo

Saw him on his Real debut, live at the Bernabeau. He looked great. Comfortable on the ball. Moved well. My only gripe at the time was that we didn't make a move for him while he was at Porto. Same with Alex Sandro.

Do we give up on players too easily

Yes we do and we are too quick to jump on the hype wagon of the supposed next best thing. We seem to want what is 'current' rather than focusing on improving what we have. I'm generalizing here by talking in the present tense because I actually think Pep knows exactly the type of player he...

    Alexis Sanchez

For what it's worth, we're still confident and are very wary about what happened with Alves and PSG. Whether that means we pay way over the odds, I don't know.

    Benjamin Mendy

I have seen him play only about 4 or 5 times but he's looked quite clunky and clumsy in a few of those games.....when I've seen him at least. He looks a beast though.

    Jadon Sancho

In fairness the squad players playing in central midfield are of much less quality than those playing in attack.

    Jadon Sancho

Decision making in the final third is also much more difficult than it is in midfield or other less decisive areas. It's unfair to compare.

    Alexis Sanchez

It's probably more like 4 spots because we also have Gundogan, Yaya and Dinho to fit in. I don't see how we could keep everybody happy if he did come in.

    I see the logic.

    It's Quiet - a new dawn

Bumping this. We have stepped up on Goretzka (hence today's story) although I think it has something to do with Arsenal's current stance on Alexis. Bit of bluff calling on our part. Watch this space as Arsenal really want Goretzka.
