    2 | Kyle Walker - 2023/24

Wasn’t great, but he was trying to stop BJ cutting inside and shooting given that he is right footed. Our defence should be able to deal with Son and Kulusevski in the air tbf.

    10 | Jack Grealish - 2023/24

Not close to being good enough for a top club. Doesn’t have the pace to do anything other than come inside. He needs a left back overlapping and taking a defender away, but we can’t play like that because we have no legs in midfield to mop up the counter attack if we lose the ball. I’d try him...

    24 | Joško Gvardiol - 2023/24

He isn’t a good defender. He’s in the same category as Upamecano and Konate - defenders from Leipzig who somehow command ridiculous money but are just a bit meh. Konate and Upamecano at least have the physical attributes to recover from mistakes. He’s technically decent but he’s not...

    8 | Mateo Kovacic - 2023/24

Hasn’t worked out has it? Injury prone. Can’t really pass. Breaks the lines with a nice dribble every now and then but it fizzles out into nothing anyway. Nowhere near Gundogan level. No threat past the half way line at all. Not really trusted by Pep either. Just a weird signing. Same goes for...

    25 | Manuel Akanji - 2023/24

He was at fault for their second goal. The decision to play the pass infield to Alvarez was brain dead. He had Walker at RB in acres of space and Walker had a nice easy pass into Foden ahead of him. What on earth did he expect Alvarez to do with that ball with a Spurs defender on him? Just high...

    31 | Ederson - 2023/24

Sometimes feel like he doesn’t look like an actual goalie. Cost us points today and against Chelsea with his parry straight to Jackson. Been good this season on the whole, but I do think we over react to some of his good saves because deep down we know he isn’t the best shot stopper. Great...

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2023/24

His link up play is great now though. His passing is brilliant at times. Bollocks. His link up play was great. Worked his arse off too.

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

I don’t understand it either. People already have a fixed perception. It won’t be undone by a few years of prudent spending. We may as well carry on as we did.

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Why would this season be any different though?

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

He sort of is though. We still don’t have a left back. We have one senior right back. We have limited options out wide. We have just lost our captain. Our bench is topped up with players Pep does not trust to play meaningful minutes - 1 of those players being a £40m signing. KDB is now 32 and...

    The Title Race 2022/23

Palace? Feel like they are more likely to drop points away at Fulham, Leicester and Newcastle than they are at home to Palace. Palace have only won once this year. Arsenal will get slapped by Liverpool too. Always do at Anfield.

No but their goal came down that side

Why did we let Zinchenko go?

People really don’t understand the fluidity he gave us. When we played Leipzig in the 6-3, we really struggled in the first 10-15 mins of the game because Leipzig boxed out Rodri. Zinny moved infield to help him in the build up and we ran riot. He is press resistant, can take the ball on the...

Why did we let Zinchenko go?

Yeah because he wasn’t utilised. He’s a better full back than Cancelo. He has every right to want to leave.

Why did we let Zinchenko go?

Nah sorry but this is just nonsense. He was exceptional for us. He could barely play and then come in and drop a 7.5/10. Helped us retain the ball so well, helped with the rhythm of the game, could invert and help Rodri perfectly. Was very good in the air, statistically at one point was our...

The worst thing about farcical officiating

Yeah it was embarrassing. Think he’s too nice to say what he really thinks. As a CB there’s no way he agrees with that decision.

Everton (H) | Post Match Thread

Yes but that’s because of the fear of the transition. It’s to essentially limit the number of times it happens. Pep seems very specific about where he wants his teams to cross from and who it is who plays the crosses (basically not overlapping full backs) and it’s to do with preventing a...

Yeah I agree, I don’t know what more Grealish can do in these situations.

Everton (H) | Post Match Thread

Issue with overlapping full backs is what happens on the counter when one of them crosses and the ball gets cleared? We don’t have any recovery pace in midfield with Rodri, KDB, Silva and Gundogan. Playing with overlapping full backs would be a risk with our current squad profile.

    Brentford (H) | Post-Match Thread

Cancelo has been absolutely abysmal almost all season, and was patchy at best last season. His entire reputation is built on ‘moments’ or outrageous pieces of skill that paper over poor performances. Selling Zinchenko and losing the option to build up with a trusted left footed full back is so...
