    Gas & Electricity

I live in Spain and the only house heating energy I use is to ignite my 12 kw pellet burner if or when needed. For last month our equivelant of vat added 10 percent to return to pre covid 21 percent. We get decent discounts if we use energy mostly at low peak times so we are now paying just...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Originally Man U along with others ridiculed the Sheikh M takeover saying that football was a special sector that newcomer investment would not understand so would fail applying a traditional Business Plan. Our owners proved that theory wrong. Can't blame Sir Jim for copying the best of the...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Let's hope it's for life bacause it will mean we are still taking the lions share of trophies and money that rightfully belongs to our various rivals.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Cult followers ignore logic and are only interested in their warped beliefs.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

If the BM Forum manages to highlight anything negative I'm sure enemy cult followers will do the same. This is how the journos are paid as we know. It's a long time ago that newspapers published just news.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Also I understand United were fined after admitting they failed FFP. They may be right in thinking we will "get away with it". In the absence of any evidence that means their gut feelings cannot be converted into factual events. As near to an apology we can expect from cult followers.

    Russian invasion of Ukraine

Presumably the Christian "history" of gloryfying martyrs into saints will now be the subject of a rethink.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Thanks for reply. I wonder about the long term effect on United where the interest is simply paid and lost together with the fee to change Glazers pocket money into dollars. No forward buying of dollars just apparently wasteful conversions. Could these have an effect on even United as well as...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Long term debt especially now that interest rates rise seem to be an acceptable form of funding. City seem to avoid this and prefer debt free. Has this preference been justified after income streams worsened during covid years or is it just less of a risk?

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

How much of that spend possibility goes Glazer style? Rightly or wrongly I have thought that City were almost alone in continual reinvestment into football.

Seems it's not only my legal education that needs revision. Apologies to all.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I think the more contrived the rules have become the more obvious the bias becomes. Perhaps they realise their time in charge has become time limited and are simply milking the rules as quickly as possible, there again maybe they are still grasping at any rule changes to stop City not realizing...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Without the benefit of any personal legal training I have to say I have learnt more about the legal process by reading various BM threads. We certainly value your legal opinions as well as your other opinions on none football threads. Keep posting Gorden (as if you needed any encouragement).

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

City are the only Club that have had to comply with the tightening FFP rules over the years at the same time as observing minimum debt which in the real world is a massive asset when Covid struck income levels. We have certainly exposed the clubs that try to compete who have little regard for...

    Time added on

Perhaps a publically visible running total of any additional time would highlight any convenient additions or subtractions of time depending on real time score.

    Time added on

My point is that those who run football want as much control as possible for refs and var so that they can selectively apply them or choose to ignore them. VAR simply gives them a second chance to apply or ignore their own rules.
  17. S

    Time added on

Of course there are examples of better ways to apply rules in other sports but for obvious reasons this is not wanted in football. The more control over refs and var the better to influence results.

    Liverpool Thread - 2023/24

Three things. First, no var. Second, since when has two wrongs made a right if rules are to be followed. Third, thank heaven's they scored otherwise they would still be playing. We have to remember this is a red top team so we should be used to ref bias and rules being bent in their...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Perhaps even some of the things the 115 contain are covered in that Settlement? Recent financial history makes us not fearing FFP whereas we sailed close to the wind prior to that.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Surely a KC or QC is employed by one side or another to be unfair ie be biased. If employed as the equivelant of a Judge maybe fairness is his / her job. Or am I being naive?
