    It's always worth trying a split ticketing website for railfares. I usually save around 30% on rail fares to/from London by using a split ticket, sometimes more.

    I remember reading that the plan was to increase service frequency on the East Manchester Line to 1 tram per 6 minutes. This was supposed to happen sometime during 2019 but I am not sure it had actually been implemented before the pandemic struck.

    Dr Beeching didn't cut anything. He wrote two reports, the first covering rationalisations, the second modernisation. Ministers (Governments) made the decisions. Whilst they generally implemented the 1st report recommendations enthusiastically, they didn't close all the lines/stations...

    I tend to agree, but there will probably be some useful changes, such as the introduction of carnet tickets. Going off the "Return to the Office" thread, a number of employers will be moving towards requiring the staff to be in the office 2-3 days per week, so a carnet style book of tickets...
