    Atmosphere - 2023/24

I don't think any City fans were downing Huddersfield fans for supporting 'a bit of a shit' side. I have more respect for them than the countless fans who follow the red shirted media darlings but never go anywhere near their respective grounds but post a load of shite on the likes of...

Oh and Spund is sound! Should proof read if I'm trying to make a sensible(?) point.

The vast majority of City fans I know, I meant to put in the 2nd paragraph (sounds like I'm pissed up!)

Most fans are okay regardless of who they support , but all teams have dickheads following them as you mention. The vasg majority if City fans i nnow and have met over the years are pretty spund. Back in the 80s I remember at Maine Road a Liverpool fan in his 60s(?) getting a bloody nose for...

    FA Cup 4th Round Draw | Tottenham (A) | Fri 26th Jan, 20:00

Anyone else remember a game we played down at Maidstone the season of the Luton relegation (82/83), either a testimonial or benefit game? It was towards the end of that season and I'm pretty sure we sent almost a full strength team. A bit strange considering we were in the middle of a relegation...

Have to agree, wasn't over impressed with Udders fans considering how many they had there. They made a bit of noise on their rare attacks, but didn't seem to sing much apart from 'Is this a library' 'WWYWYWS' etc...how original is that! Got to say I was expecting the 'you're shit, ahhh' from...

Huddersfield (H) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Straight foward wasn't it, once we got going. Good to see a few academy lads in team also, and KDB back ofcourse. The Udders fans were an odd lot aren't they! quite predictable and boring with the usual chants so nothing new there . I can get booing opposing players for diving, but booing them...

Wimbledon away in the FA Cup in at Selhurst in 99, more away fans than home fans that day (not that hard when it was Wimbledon in those days though). Actually, the thing I most remember most about that game was Paul Dickov having a goal chalked off .Joe Royle said afterwards something along the...

    Atmosphere - 2023/24

Seem to remember a load of Chelsea fans turned up outside Plough Lane when we were away at Wimbledon first game of 84/85 season. There had been quite a bit of trouble when we played them at Maine Road at the end of the previous season from memory, Chelsea had got promoted back to the 1st...

Much though on paper it looks good having 5 lads who've come through the academy on the pitch (which it does) I don't think Pep would go with that line up, as it isn't strong enough. Perrsonally I don't think we can just assume we will beat them with whoever we put out!!

Swearing when the other team scores, that's terrible isn't it! Nearly every time at a match I swear when City concede a goal, if feels a very natural response, I also often swear at the radio or TV (especially if it's the rags or Liverpool) have to be a bit more careful if I'm in the neutral...

That does still seem a decent line up, even with the absentees. We may not get away with starting with 12 though!

Can't say I really normally give 'Udders' much thought (apart from when I think about the 10:1), their manager Darren Moore does seem a decent bloke though. However, having had a quick look at one of their forums where the thread for the match is' Man C (Abu Dhabi Utd)' it would be nice to...

    Terry Phelan's wondergoal v Spurs 1993

Great goal, as you say. As others said on this thread, a hugely disappointing day and typical of so many in years gone by. That cup run got our hopes up only to be let down didn't it. Looking back ,I don't think we were that shit at that point as we had finished 5th in both of the previous 2...

    Media Discussion - 2023/24

When I think of Warrington , I have to say I think of nice meatballs and Lingonberry sauce (mind you they also have those at the IKEA in Ashton-Under-Lyne thinking about it don't they !)

When / why did you become a City fan?

Saw my first City match in 73/74 season (dad came from a line of blues) so even though I saw them all play for us , a bit late to appreciate the Bell/Lee/Sumerbee years. This team was probably the first one I probably really related to .Some players from that above era were still there...

I just put 'red shifted' ones didn't I !, that's an ironic 'typo' ,as it's normally their opponents that get shifted!

    Media Discussion - 2023/24

Wrighty is very biased towards Arsenal, which isn't that surprising considering his very impressive career there. To be fair he has said in the past that he does hold City in fairly high regard as they 'treated my boys well', not sure that would stretch as far as wanting us to win the Prem over...

Remember losing to 3rd Division Shrewsbury followed by 4th Division Halifax the next season, then the next season ...... we got to the final! Seems bizarre now, but there was seriously a time where I really wouldn't have been surprised had we lost to a non league side(and i'm sure I wouldn't...
