The thing is the media are dinosaurs, continuously harking back to a time when they were relevant, they just having grasped the new reality that they no longer matter, the print media is almost dead, sky and tnt are just sad extensions of lfctv and mutv and their clientele represents that.

The media are desperate to keep the morons who cling on to the rags and dippers being the bestest clubs in the world !

John Aldridge Liverpool legend.

His Football League appearances amount to 243 for Tranmere, 170 for Newport, 114 for Oxford and, er, 83 for Liverpool. He spent just 2 years out his playing career of 19 years at Liverpool.
His playing career will only be remembered for 2 things:
Not scoring that penalty in the Cup Final vs Wimbledon and his touchline rant for the Republic or Ireland in the 1994 World Cup. I can't remember anything else he did.

I can. Acting like a ****, mocking the lad who missed a penalty in the rearranged Hillsborough game at Old Trafford.

Then a few weeks later when the roles were reversed and he was distraught after blowing the league, he told David O Leary to fuck off, when he tried to console him.

Those two incidents I’ve always thought said a lot about the sort of person he is.

Thanks for jogging my memory over the Brian Laws incident. Impossible for it to make him any more of a **** in my eyes than I already believed him to be, though.

I moved from Manchester to Warrington 23 years ago. I'm definitely on the Mcr side though, with Altrincham close by. I have friends from when I worked over on the Scouse side of Warrington, near Widnes, who definitely have Scouse tendencies.

I'm also very close to High Legh, which is Macclesfield / East Cheshire, and we've been lumped in with them in the latest boundary changes. This means I'll likely see Esther McVey on my ballot paper sometime this year. Her chances of re-election won't have suffered by the acquisition of Lymm.

You should give Warrington residents a little leeway for their identity issues.
When I think of Warrington , I have to say I think of nice meatballs and Lingonberry sauce (mind you they also have those at the IKEA in Ashton-Under-Lyne thinking about it don't they !)

It also illustrates how most opposing teams set up against us, denying attacking space and sitting in a regimented and very disciplined back 8. Palmer didn't show huge signs that he was any better than we already had at either unlocking these tight defences or finding the spaces for himself.

Put him in a chelsea side where this sort of opposition's tactics aren't applied week in and week out and suddenly he's seen as the new footballing messiah.

Sutton's a VERY bitter City hater too.
CSIAC end of :-)
