That is great news if true. Usually takes 6 weeks after injury to fully hit his stride, where he glides past challenges, has that extra turn of pace. Looked in great shape today, more trim than usual when he returns.

Its the best thing about running the only real competition is with yourself and times are really only personal to you. Also everyones motivations are different, I love being out in nature/fresh air as long as you get out of it what you want, that is the most important thing.

Some people are just incredible. I always say that will be me, but realise how difficult it is to keep going, recover from injuries and ignore the naysayers.

Long awaited return to Parkrun this morning. Plenty there so ended up arriving a bit late and so got stuck in a bit of ‘traffic’ for the first few hundred metres. Got round in 19:45 which I was happy with, on the trail, and first Parkrun for 18 months.

As Gaz says 20 miles is typically what all the training schedules recommend. I agree its worth doing more than one, particularly as you have time on your side, before April. Tapering very much depends on the person but typically do your last 20 miler, 3 weeks before, and then start your tapering...

Yes totally. Sat here aching after a run today which was hardly challenging compared to historical efforts. But its been powered by chocolate, too much processed food and unhealthy snacks. Body feels completely different. Late night snacking and chocolate has got to go next year.

Half marathon this morning out on the roads. Nothing too quick but a nice steady pace. Nothing nobody already knows but after eating badly for the past 7/10 days it really shows when running the difference food makes to your energy levels and also how you recover. The tough bit for me has...

Read all his books as a 18 year old, trying to understand the world and make sense of events in the 20th century. From Cambodia to East Timor to Diego Garcia he made me aware of events around the world, the suffering everyday people have suffered and how politics and those in power have created...

You are missing a trick here. Early morning run to shake things up and a quick visit, get to the race event and another visit to enjoy the portakabin facilities and then you run like the wind.

T Not doubting you but where did you hear about that? I remember a similar story a number of years ago but the victim and perpetrator were both City fans and the victim was intervening to protect a West Ham fan. Either way the actions of an individual is never reflective of a fanbase overall.

    Which City player are you?

Im not saying its ideal, by any stretch, but Lampard, from memory, said the same about Aguero and Tevez was notorious for being a bad trainer. Out of interest who was Derry saying that about, im guessing the winger who used to be at Spurs, Adel Taarabt? From hearing about him on a few podcasts...

    Which City player are you?

The guy who could not leave a sinking ship quick enough and chucked a few insults about City on his way out or the guy who stayed to try and help us back up. I know which one I prefer.

Of course we would have and did when we all went crazy when winning the Joan Gamper in Barcelona. Its called being a football fan.

I think there probably just having a bit of a laugh and partaking in a bit of banter at the same time. I doubt there is not one of them who doesn't realise the Conference league is not as significant as the Champions League but there just enjoying the moment - good luck to them.

From my own experiences I tend to ensure I always include a toilet stop en-route just to be on the safe side. Leasing up to races I try to cut back on the cakes/sugar/chocolate etc and generally on race day and when I train I try to eat a minimum of 4 hours before the race and also do a short...

Agree we need a replacement for Phillips but I also think we need a player who can fulfil the void left by Rodri, in the event of injury or suspension. Its a massive hole to fill anyway. In an ideal world it would be this kid, at the reported fee, to learn the demands expected of him and...

Completely agree with that. If the club are interested then they clearly think he can do a job, I am just doubtful whether it could be this season and I think our need is immediate. Thanks for not taking my post the wrong way.

To be honest every point you say I would argue against. If we need a replacement for Rodri and Pep wont trust players with significant of european and premiership experience I would be surprised if he would use a player with no experience outside Brazil immediately, therefore resulting in Rodri...
