Sky would call it a ‘cauldron of noise’ :-)

I don’t disagree the narrative is different. It’s funny though it always seem to relate to Champs lge matches, the criticism, as if some meaningless match at home in the group stages should resemble Boca v River Plate. It’s boring and predictable but not surprising as that sums up most pundits...

Ditto mate. I’m not digging you out either and know you agree as you are one of the more thoughtful posters on this subject and someone who is ars*d enough to try and make difference at the ground. I doth my cap to you for all your work over the years.

And it’s effecting all grounds including our own. Don’t like our fans being ‘crowd shamed’ due to all the mitigating factors in football impacting on atmosphere. So think it’s right to apply the same courtesy to others. Personally I think football has been lost at the top level. Success comes...

To be honest after seeing how Everton have played over the past couple of seasons they are lucky to get the support they do. They are in a place of despair with the club and the style of football.

    Atmosphere 2024/25

I must be watching a different match but every time an Everton player makes a tackle they are getting applause, cheering closing down, putting pressure on the ref. To be honest I’m not going to get bothered about comments about our atmosphere but then do the exact same thing to another fanbase...

It sounds pretty decent at Goodison to me. Not necessarily chanting but a continuous buzz around the ground and responses to events on the pitch like tackles, winning corners, ref decisions etc. Think it’s a bit weird knocking other crowds to be honest when a lot of City fans are pretty...

    Nicoló Barella

The way he plays he was born to play for Pep and City but like has been said never a Rodri replacement. Still if he ever became available we need to be at the front of the queue.

    Georgi Kinkladze

Did you watch the City team of that era? They definitely did not work on tactics or positions all week unless the tactics were devised by General Melchett.

    Applauding the opposition goalkeeper

Yes was in the Main Stand that day, pretty sure it was a bank holiday, glorious sunshine. We could not hang on for the win sadly. Pretty sure it was Ian Wright who equalised.

    Applauding the opposition goalkeeper

He was the first one I thought about. Nixons crazy sending off against Palace was another great goalkeeping moment.

    Applauding the opposition goalkeeper

I was at that game, don’t remember the Villa fans applauding but remember being a bit overawed seeing the great man for the first time.

    Applauding the opposition goalkeeper

Watching City in the 80s didn’t we applaud the opposition goalkeepers and boo our own.

    Applauding the opposition goalkeeper

Fans rarely applaud ex-players of their own club nowadays let alone opposition players. Everyone has a reason to now to dislike someone usually by manipulating their words to justify their hate or finding some innocuous comments from the depths of time.

True that, very strange and over the whole 90 minutes I never heard more than a couple of chants and could not really identify where their singing section was. Not digging the Newcastle fans as they have great fans but it’s a country wide problem, just highlighting it’s not unique to us or we...

Newcastle United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

It was probably one big game too many in a short period of time. Inter, Arsenal and Newcastle away in 10 days is a big ask. The standards slipped, far too passive, but we needed a bit of luck today. Second goal would have killed it but we chose poorly or did not complete the final pass...

The guy is breaking all records for goalscoring which suggests he is getting good service. Haaland is a great finisher but is not the strongest in air, so throwing in cross after cross balls is not the solution. Furthermore Haaland is just one cog in the team the controlled build up has many...

Yes thanks again for your post. Like I say I am not an expert on this topic so happy to read, learn and for the things I’ve read to be challenged.

    Donald Trump

A lot of the data suggests it’s a bit more nuanced than that. We have seen over here how the red wall has collapsed previously and voted for the Conservatives and how Labour, to again power, have to appeal to voters from the middle right ground. There will be a hardcore of voters who will vote...

    Donald Trump

Thank you for the quick Maths lesson but if you reread my original post my comments about immigration and the economy being the main issues, related to Trump/Republican supporters and potentially swing voters. The former a point you agree is the main issue for the GOP supporters. So it was not...
