    Thank You, Ilkay Gundogan

Wished he had stayed and would take him back in a heartbeat, but fully understand his decision to leave. His career has only a finite period left to run and if he had a desire to play in Spain or for Barca it was the right decision to go. Even if things do not work out as you expect, like...

    17 | Kevin De Bruyne - 2023/24

That is exactly what I expect. If he is fit for December it will probably be Mid-January before he returns to the KDB we typically see. Not just his fitness, his passing radar takes a while to recalibrate.

    Bus Welcome vs Scousers?

Better to have one later in the season when the trophies are being handed out, not for a standard home game.

Never mind all that. A real parkrun is going all in for the first 2k and then hanging on for dear life for the next 3. It is the only way to do it.

Hard not to enjoy parkruns. Friendly but competitive, free, and full of positive people getting out and enjoying exercise. Yes intervals/speed work are a key part of training. If you add that, looking at your other runs you have a pretty decent training schedule. I try to aim for one long run...

Absolute killer the short distance work. Much prefer a 10k plod but look at it as a necessity to get better. Only really enjoy it once it is over.

Nice training session last night at Run club. 1.5k warm up 6x400 metres with 1 minute rest 6x200 metres with 45 seconds rest 1.5k warm down. The sprints have destroyed the legs, it was pitch black and cold in the forest and It absolutely chucked it down - fantastic.

What would you consider his main attributes are outside goal scoring? I will have to watch the match again but I neither felt like he was creating space nor acting as a focal point. If he gets the goals it’s fair enough but you can lose a bit in your team when the goals dry up.

Brighton (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Enjoyed that yesterday. I expected the match to be a bit more gung-ho end to end with Brighton, but they slowly brought themselves back into the game and the last 10 minutes were there was a decent level of jeopardy as they had a few goal threats on the pitch. Only echo the comments about...

Nice 15k this morning in preparation for ‘The Stickler’ 10 miler through rural Dorset nxt weekend. Did the loop from Etherow country park up the hill to the top of Werneth low in Hyde and then back through Romiley. 300 metres of ascent which was good practice for next weekend, but very tough on...

I am sort of following it in a non-structured sort of way. Run 5/6 days a week but the main change I have made is my slow runs are now a lot slower. I typically aim to keep my heart rate below 130, so in HR zones 1/2 on the Garmin. Complete contrast to previously where nearly all my run were in...

25k touching on the South West Coast path running from Corfe Castle, down to Kimmerridge and then back round to Corfe Castle. Great views of the sea/coast line/rolling countryside. A few big hills and a couple of stop for pictures so got round in 2hr 37 but managed to keep my heart rate really...

Nice and slow 10k recovery run tonight. Took over an hour, with an average HR of 125, but got to catch up on a couple of podcasts. Really enjoyable

    Middle East Conflict

I hope you are correct about America’s role but I am not sure the sending of military ships and aircraft send the right message in relation to restraint. Just a terrible situation.

Tough session tonight. Intervals at 8/9 out of 10 effort. 8x1 minute with one minute recovery followed by 8x30 secs with thirty seconds recovery followed by 8x20 seconds with twenty second recovery. Only added up to around 5K of structured running but I was absolutely shattered. Not used to...

Yes totally agree. I went to Vienna to see Kipchoge go sub 2 hours and it was an incredible experience. The way Kipchoge trains and conducts himself speaks volumes about the bloke. Living in sparse accommodation in Iten with other runners. Cooking, cleaning running as a collective. Such a...

Its a real shame now when you here these great times the first question you think is has another super shoe been invented rather than focus on the achievement. Not sure how they regulate the shoes but it seems like they play do big a part nowadays. Apparently Adidas have some super shoes...

You say slow and steady but that is a cracking Parkrun time. I always think training yourself to reach 10k are the hardest Ks of training. Once that base is established 10-14K as an examples seems much lesser a jump than say from 2-6 4-8K etc. Keep improving but more importantly keep...

Bournemouth half marathan completed today. Ran with the missus who got herself a PB but not a sub 2 hour half she had hoped for. Have to say I really enjoyed it. Treated it like a training run and not running flat out gave me the opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere, people watch and take in the...
