Players bought / sold within a season

Interesting one that? when exactly did Gleghorn leave? Obviously he was signed for the start of the promotion season in 88/89 but I remember him playing in the opening home game against Southampton after promotion the following season (lost 1-2) he may even have scored actually?

And Derby County the same season when Coton was sent off and Niall Quinn saved the penalty.

    My Brother Chris.

Ric and Mods sorry for posting this so late so please move if you see fit? Guys. Some of you will remember my brother Chris as he has helped decorating a few Bluemooner's houses and I do hope you speak up. In the last year he has found out he has a rare form of brain tumour lodged between his...

Count me in with the above. This is a story that needs telling.

    New company car

That Jaguar XE is one seriously good looking car. I've just turned 40 and would snap that up over a BMW or Audi anyday if the situation was ever possible.

    Just love this pic...

Must admit I thought that was Trevor Francis in the above picture but I'll stand corrected.

    Teetotal

Interesting to read the various views and opinions regarding this as I searched this post out for a reason. Certain members of my family have now approached me regarding my drinking - I am (I think) an alcoholic, have been for possibly 15 years but the realities are finally starting to sink...

    Smartphone sim card ports.

Family and friends clubbed together to get me a smartphone for my 40th and with me being a techno thicko hadn't activated it for over a week. Two friends were let loose on this last night to get it going for me and have basically screwed up the port that the sim card should fit into. Now I know...

Interesting. I don't go in Chicken Run very often and have never tried Curried goat either? Might take a walk across tomorrow.

    Breakout Manchester

Yeah, I think we booked ours a good three or four weeks in advance as it's proving very, very popular. Go for the easier level to start with (which I think is level 3-you have a choice of two rooms).

    Breakout Manchester

Didn't know anything about this until I saw it here on Bluemoon. Anyway did it on Friday night just gone as part of my 40th and really enjoyed it and managed to get out with eight minutes to spare.

    Historical Food/Beer sold at City

Packets of Salt and Vinegar flavor Fish n Chip biscuits that used to be sold by the kids that wheeled the tea urn around the side of the pitch along with a cup of scalding Oxo.

Colin Bell coveted by Don Revie at Leeds.

This is something I never actually knew although I suppose it doesn't surprise me. Been watching a documentary on Don Revie tonight and it mentions this after Revie took the England job. Was this ever anything that was in the public eye back in the day? I suppose the thought of Bell in that...

    CB radio.

My best mate who lived near Leigh was well into this in the very early 1990's. He used to go and meet (or eyeball to give the correct term) all sorts of random slappers. Infact I bet Leigh still has loads of people who use CB radios as the place hasn't advanced since.

    When should Swales have left?

Interesting to hear peoples thoughts on this? Obviously we lost the 1974 League Cup Final to Wolves which he admitted himself was a shock after expecting to win it. But two years later we obviously beat Newcastle and then were runners up to Liverpool the following season. How did people respond...

    Maine Road For Visiting Fans

Lets not kid ourselves? for a certain generation Maine Road was a terrifying place to visit especially for fans of London teams. Read Bill Gardeners book as a cited example. I don't think the surrounding area especially helped. I remember talking to a fella a few years ago from Wigan who is an...

    One for the statisticians/Gary James.

That was the end of Mercer and Allison after that without a doubt. Sad that Joe ignored Malcolm but I think he knew he was fighting a battle he couldn't win as the powers that be at Maine Road wanted Mal to have the top job.
