I guess a lot of people in the US will be surprised that even if the US drops out of NATO it wont reduce the US's military spend. it will probably increase it. It certainly wont change the military doctrine that the US has of wanting to be able to take on the rest of the world combined and win.

I think this will depend if the Republicans get the house. I read that a new law had been put in place that blocked any sitting president from removing the US from any treaties without a vote through the house.

I can see why your saying it but our military spending is directly related to our ability to assist Ukraine so it is a valid discussion for this thread. just easy to get off topic and derail.

It was never a requirement tho, just a guide line. and there are clear needs for exceptions like Iceland. a key strategic location with no military. That being said Europe needs to be closer to its cold war spending.

That being said ( and I agree ) I dont doubt that it will be helped a lot by seeing plans for western tech. I also dont doubt Ukraine have disassembled a fair few of those ATACMS to look to build there own similar ones.
