    Newcastle United (H) - Sat 16th March, 17:30 | FA Cup | Pre-Match Thread

internal club disciplinary from Pep for sulking on live TV, dressed up as a small injury (plus gets him out of intl break) I completely made that up. I have no evidence at all.

    United Thread - 2023/24

looks like the United media machine are hyping up his value, or hyping up his image for when he 'decides to stay for the love of the club'

VAR Discussion Thread - 2023/24 | PL clubs to vote on whether to scrap VAR (pg413)

I am really undecided about the level of corruption in PL football. I really do not think one specific team is favoured, e.g. Liverpool, but i am more uncertain about the 'protection of the product'. It would be quite naïve to simply dismiss the old adage - where there's money....there's...

VAR Discussion Thread - 2023/24 | PL clubs to vote on whether to scrap VAR (pg413)

Surely that Doku incident at Anfield was the easiest opportunity yet for a "corrupt" vision of the PL to award a penalty for Liverpool? I mean, it would not have been challenged at all, in fact celebrated, so there have to be a few "football is fixed" folks scratching their heads at that one?

Champions League - QF: Real Madrid, SF: Arsenal/Bayern, (H) for 2nd legs

looking like a meaty draw. In order of preference, taking into account we can get the big glamour tie in the SF: 1. Dortmund/PSV, 2=. PSG or Barcelona, 4. Atletico/Inter, 6. Arsenal, 7. Bayern Munich, 8. Real Madrid

    Gigs Thread

went to CMAT (w/ John Grant) and The Gossip (w/ Alison Moyet) on Friday night for the 6 Music thing. Was a good gig, my wife is into the bands and i went along, but both vocalists were very strong, and The Gossip still a great live act. Good gig.

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2023/24

Haaland was involved in a lot of build up play, possibly too much for Peps liking, and I thought he played ok, unsure why he's getting slaughtered

Oh I'm sure we would be treated to similar levels of indignation, yes. Ahem.

Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Yes i agree, var wasn't going to over turn it either way (much to the dismay of the football is fixed crew). I would have screamed the pub down if it was us at the other end :)

Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I've watched the Doku penalty incident about 100 times today. I'm still unsure. And that is probably why var has stayed with the on field decision . Flipping close though. I do wonder how I would feel if that was Robertson on Foden.... What I am sure about is the indecision to head the thing...

    The Title Race - 2023/24

i'm at peace with this season, we've just won the treble and i think it's amazing we're in touch. This is great for the adrenalin though, hope it goes to the wire, we love that :D

    Media Discussion - 2023/24

In my eyes, both players did very well in that situation, it was a case of 'great football all round', hoping not too sound too cheesy. Van Dijk showed great composure and Haaland fashioned good space against an experienced centre half. Haaland starts 10 yards away from Van Dijk and you can...

    20 | Bernardo Silva - 2023/24

form seems very erratic from game to game

    10 | Jack Grealish - 2023/24

just imagine the sheer quantity of free kicks we would have won over on the left side with Jack on the picth :D seriously though, if you need to quieten the game down and win a free kick high up to slow the whole thing down and take the pressure off the back 5, this lad is your man. Sorely...

    Pep Guardiola - 2023/24

good first half selection, with no reason to change for the second, but it became very apparent very quickly that we had gone into our shells and were getting pummeled, post penalty, but Pep waited until the 69th minute which was probably 5 mins too many, in my eyes.

Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

After a really decent first half, the second was a painful slow death that I assumed would be lost near to the end, but somehow we held out. I agreed with the KdB sub, he was having little to no impact anymore, plus Alvarez simply didn't re-emerge from the dressing room (I thought his first...

    47 | Phil Foden - 2023/24

Really surprised he kept his best chance low, was begging for a little chip.

    11 | Jeremy Doku - 2023/24

Really unlucky with the post, really unlucky. But standing so far off it in his own box, with that risk of a penalty (it's Anfield after all) was insanity
