Good advice. Park run PB is 20:49 but then I hit Covid and never hit that level back. I also had a hip injury which required me biking up my core/glutes and also hit the gym. So I bulked up a bit (I had to as the hip is cartilage damage) but I was pretty thin and sinewy (for me). I do want to...

Current ’take it easy’ chatting pace is around 5.40 / km (but sure what that is is miles) but can push that in a park run. Definitely want to do one of the Manchester half marathons. Trouble is the May one could be very hot and heat is a struggle to run in for me (much more of a cold weather...

It is. I went out again this evening for a steady 7k. Headphones on, soon warmed up you get into this zone/cocoon and it's such a good feeling. General advice to push up distances but not worry too much about pace? Definitely heading for a new half marathon soon. An event one, rather than a...

Always fancied an event in one of the Scandinavian countries - embed one in a small break over there. I can imagine the ice water being beneficial. Was speaking to a fellow runner on the drive down to that Stockport race on Sunday. We both do cold showers every morning (not together....) and...

54 mins. Not bad and I wasn't pushing at all so I reckon I could go sub 50 next time. Really enjoyed it and as my first event I'll be back (and now plan to do others). Think there's a couple in Wilmslow and Poynton soon. I did a slow 6k last night. In the rain with podcast - worked a treat...

Nice. Will do that. I didn't push myself on the 10k Stockport event - just nice steady pace. Wanted to drop an official marker down for future races.

Good time that! Despite running for years, that was my first ever organised event and I get the buzz around them now. Definitely planning more. There's a few Wilmslow events in March. Up for a half marathon at some stage and was looking at May - but there's a good chance it will be v warm...

    Traitors

Was hoping Jaz would win. I liked him and he really did have some analytical clout (didn't he help out 4 contestants)? But.....fait play to Harry, his winning streak with a dash of luck and charm pulled him all the way through. Nice surprise this show and I'm gonna miss this. Still, The Great...

A34 closed | 30 year old man murdered after traffic light "altercation"

Walked past this the following morning. There was a serious incident a month or two back (there's a lot of fast traffic passing this junction it's like a drag rave at times). I presumed it was a similar incident (someone was ran over) until I saw forensics all over it.

    Manchester’s Changing Skyline

But from a purely selfish POV, I really liked this building (was more of a feeling rather than appreciative of the architecture!)

    Manchester’s Changing Skyline

Crazy how they're now knocking down a fair amount of recent buildings (hesitate to use the word architecture).

    Rishi Sunak

Reminds me of one of those *cinema tropes where the audience can see the protagonist getting away with murder but those around them in the film are totally oblivious to it. *I say Cinema, I really mean a Channel 5 Hallmark movie....

Someone please put an end to this ceaseless fucking fever dream.

    Traitors

Haven't watched a reality show of thus type for years. In fact, probablt since the first couple of Big Brothers (back when they were more of a social experiment way before the slimy years). Absolutely transfixed. Fair play to everyone behind this.

How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

Somone on here posted a link to the Armando Iannucci podcast (which are really good btw) and after I lsited to that, I jumped on this one. It's a Brexit edition basically, but found it interesting (and funny) but quite sobering. You can get these on any podcast tool btw (or youtube)...

    The Conservative Party

Gonna see if this is on a podcast. Just about to go on a 45 min walk so this fits perfectly. Big fan of Iannucci.

Yeah, it's one of the TV series that you can't wait to stick on each evening.

Just looking forward to longer distances again. Have to fit in all my other exercises too (strength training, yoga, pilates) and fancy taking up tennis again. But running is integral to all these. Important bit is to keep on moving...

    Tesla robot

Boston Dynamics are working on some incredible robots. Don't look as sleek as these 'hi-fidelity' versions but some fine gymnastics and dexterity at play....unless, it's just CGI :)
