Arsenal a longer continuous stay in PL than the toffees?

No, it simply means he's sobered up.

    Media Discussion - 2023/24

The problem with the media is not so much the personnel responsible for the articles produced as the editorial policy to which these articles must conform. Martin Samuel has toned down his articles since going to the Times and all the others line up willingly to put their weight behind the...

VAR Discussion Thread - 2023/24 | PL clubs to vote on whether to scrap VAR (pg413)

I was a firm believer in VAR back in 2018 but it's descended to a level now where it's doing more harm than good. We've had the constant nonsense about handball. The law hasn't changed at all but the instructions on unnatural positions and so on mean that nobody has a clue as to what...

Spurs (A) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Yes I'm certainly not criticising young Oscar who showed admirable instincts and reactions. I remember an incident at Anfield when "Trent" clearly handled the ball and Sergio joined in an appeal when it seemed easier to stick the ball in the onion bag! Needless to say we didn't get the...

Spurs (A) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

I've just watched the replay on City+ and that was what struck me. I am convinced it would have crossed the line if young Oscar had not touched it.

Spurs (A) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

I may have missed something in this discussion but the linesman flagged for offside and the referee gave his decidion as offside, so the goal would have been ruled out even without VAR?

    69 today...

Many happy returns. Oh, to be only 69 again!

Perhaps they show that there are a lot of Evertonians who are really enjoying the news?!

    Liverpool Thread - 2023/24

Half time in the cup match and I've been reading some of the offerings on rawk. I'm just going to vomit before the second half.

Spurs (A) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Goldbridge has been venting his spleen about the goal this morning. Last night we saw City score a goal at WHL, we saw City win at Spurs and this morning to hear Goldbridge on the verge of bursting a blood vessel and knowing those lemmings will lap it up just makes it all the more enjoyable...

Spurs (A) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

I was more than nervous in the days leading up to the match and at kick off I felt I had that hang dog look of the long suffering City fan - after more than 15 years of the Sheikh and Khaldoon and more than 7 of "win the lot" Pep!! For the first 15 minutes I watched in disbelief and thought (how...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

In the late 1970s Peter Swales embarked on a period of very high, debt financed spending in an aim to make City the most glamorous and successful club in the land. The policy took time before it proved to be disastrous on the pitch and catastrophic off it. By the time we saw the full effects...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I agree with your gut!! CAS found that UEFA had no evidence to support their claims, though it found that Pinto's stolen emails did justify an investigation and proceedings! Immediately the PL announced that it would continue its investigation, thought it could not possibly have any new...

Yes, I know - but what has that got to do with it?

And Liverpool are confirmed as champions in 1961.. while Arsenal win the FA cup.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

It is bizarre to say the least that Ceferin knows the adjudicatory panel were right but that he respects (not accepts but respects) a decision which in his eyes was completely wrong. Almost as strange as for a trial lawyer for twenty five years basing his view on no evidence at all. A great guy!

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Thanks yet again for explaining this, PB. It's years back now that so many City supporters swallowed the "no smoke without fire" philosophy in the run up to the CAS hearing. How depressing that there are still those who think we must have done something or why are we accused now of 115...

Greater love hath no fan than that he should bankrupt himself to force his club into administration.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The IC, however, is NOT a court. It is a body, the members of which are chosen by an appointee of the PL. They are three in number, only one of whom has to have a legal background and is presumably a KC. The "background" of the other two may be in the world of finance. They are to decide...
