this is like debating with my missus, everytime you ask a question and its answered in a way you dont like , you just change the question.

I answered it was to broad and to simplistic of a question.

You said give me a Yes or No. So i said No.

Its not a broad and simplistic question tho, you said you didnt believe the premier league was corrupt and then asked me to show you evidence of corruption which i did and the you said that all big organisations must have corruption which i agreed was the case and then you started talking about the music industry for some reason and said because they had corruption did i believe they were corrupt, you're all over the place, if you dont believe that there is no corruption in the pl or football in general then more power to you and i applaud your idealism but in my opinion there is more evidence that there is than to show that there isnt and we shall agree to disagree but my 2 questions to you still remain.

It just all goes down a massive rabbit hole.
Yes there's been examples of corruption in the history of football, no shit.
nowadays though everyone just screams corruption all the time.
Bad penalty decision = corruption!
Red card = corruption!
Any charge against a club = corruption!
player makes a mistake and it leads to a goal = corruption!

see it all the time, constantly from every single set of fans. whole thing is nauseating.

I'm more than happy to read up with proof on current Premier League corruption from top to bottom, rather than just going off peoples hunches.

Well if you want to do then read the charge sheet on city as i said, im not saying we shouldnt have been investigated what i am saying is why wasnt their same forensic level of investigation levelled at the other 19 teams in the league.

I haven't properly looked into it, i will do. but as a non City fan i don't wish to delve deep and debate against all this with fans of City on a City forum. would find it a bit disrespectful and of course be accused of trolling etc.

I truly hope these findings don't result in deductions or further for City regardless.

like i said , if we are guilty, we should be punished accordingly, i just think that the same level of investigation should be levelled at every club not just city and the fact that it isnt seems to point to a certain level of corruption.

I was a firm believer in VAR back in 2018 but it's descended to a level now where it's doing more harm than good. We've had the constant nonsense about handball. The law hasn't changed at all but the instructions on unnatural positions and so on mean that nobody has a clue as to what constitutes deliberate hand ball so that refs feel constrained to ignore all semblance of common sense and award penalties such as the one awarded in the cup final. The answer isn't more common sense but more (confusing) instructions. The case of offside is somewhat similar. Oscar was offside by a whisker and offside now is a mathematical question with very little to do with football. Whether the linesman realised the margin of offside he raised his flag and reached the same decision as VAR much quicker. But only part of the discussion is about the tardiness of decisions. Now it is about how changes in the rule of what is offside can speed up decisions. What football fans want are honest decisions made with the minimum of fuss, not an endless changing of the rules so that the human eye can give the mathematically correct decision as fast as a computer. Let's just play football - and make sure the officials are honest!

I think most peoples problems with var is that there are reasonably simple ways they could improve it and they are choosing not to, if they made the conversations that officials have and made them give reasons for the decisions they make then people may not agree with the decisions but at least they would know how the officials arrived there and the none implementation of the automated offside system just makes them look like they dont want to improve and would rather be able to manipulate decisions to their behest.

When a player is offside, the goal is given and VAR correctly rules the goal out.
What about when a goal is scored and supporters in tge ground wait 5 minutes for some bellends to decide if its a goal or not.
What about Rashford against us at tge swamp.
Runs half the length of the pitch.
5 minute var review goal given.
It's fucking awful

forget good and bad decisions they are going to happen with and without VAR,obviously we would get more wrong decisions without VAR , how can you score a last minute winner and be halfhearted about it,thats what happened to me when ake scored v spurs, by the time the VAR decision had been made it was a case of nice one instead of YYYYYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSS, imagine aguero with var tempered elation , forget that mind blowing moment it would be tainted , football shouldn't be sterile ,football is about raw emotion ,var takes that away and id take a few wrong decisions to get that back,

football with VAR is a firm handshake and a walkback to your own half
football without VAR is shirt off swinging it around your head and a pile on.
