Yes, I think so. I work in early years supporting childminders, who have children coming into their homes, no PPE, no social distancing possible. As far as I’m aware, nursery staff, like childminders haven’t been prioritised.
My friend is a teaching assistant in Stockport and she is getting hers tomorrow. She was forwarded a link that has been shared around Stockport and Manchester schools, for teachers and TAs to take the empty slots at the Etihad. How legit this shared link is, I don’t know, but she’s got her slot.
My nephew works at a vaccination centre in Leeds. He’s 25 and has had the jab. And now so have all his mates, mostly 20 to 25 as he just rings them at the end of the session and they have the spares. There will be a lot outside of the 1 to 4 priority groups.
If you live somewhere urban, I think it’s perfectly acceptable drive further than someone who lives in the country. You need fresh air and a bit of greenery.
At 57 I’m unlikely to be offered it much before the end of March anyway. So I’m happy to have Novavax. And is a win/win for my 18 year old daughter on it. Goodness knows when she would get the NHS one.
