Beginning The 2025 Rebuild of City

The BBC have two good articles today. The Balague one about Pep and if you can stomach it , one about Ferguson. Having read both I'm coming around to a Pep rebuild. The fact that the gpc had already been at the swamp for 18 years before they embarked on a significant rebuild suggests that if...

    Mohammed Kudus

And whilst he is a fantastic player we do have a few options in his position whereas the cupboard is empty in CM, and RB.

    Mohammed Kudus

This seems to be gathering pace. The question is will he lose all his flare when he starts playing for us?

If the rot continues what happens ?

It's not fun to watch and I guess it's boring to play.

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

That just adds to the serious situation we now find ourselves in. How the hell did we let this happen?

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

So I did. Which means we have 2 good CBs Rodri Foden in the middle A front 3 that may not be good enough. And a utility player. So at the very least we need a RB, LB, AM, 2 goalkeepers, CM back up, support striker, another wide player.

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

At the start of 2026/7 I imagine that that the following will all have left the club. Ederson, Ortega, Carson, Walker, Stones, Akanji, Ake, de Bruyne, Gundoghan, Bernardo, Kovacic, Grealish, Nuñes, McAtee and Phillips. The only current players who make the cut are Lewis, Foden, Gvardiol, Rodri...

    Bruno Guimaraes

In addition if he wants Champions League football next year he's probably better off staying where he is.

Everton and West Ham at home. Leicester and then Brentford away. Can't see us winning anywhere away from home at the moment but you'd like to think the two home games are winnable. 7 points from the 4 games is doable.

If the rot continues what happens ?

No way on earth we get top four. Bournemouth, Brighton, Newcastle and Tottenham will all finish above us. Add the 5 already above us. I think 10th is about right. But to even achieve that we need to start picking up the odd win here and there which at the moment we don't look like doing. People...

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

We could buy prime Kun, Yaya and David Silva and still continue this losing streak. The problem is our slow style of play. I watched Brighton yesterday and their midfield was pretty dynamic. They passed forward not sideways.

    Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

We've got everyone apart from Rodri, Bobb and Dias now. So there are no excuses, every club is having injury problems at the moment. Pep should be good enough to steer us through this. If we continue to lose at this rate then by the end of January he will leave of his own accord.

    Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

Poor recruitment has left ageing players exposed, injuries haven't helped and Pep's refusal to try something different has put the cap on it.

    Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

These 12 games haven't just been bad we haven't had this level of sustained incompetence since Pearce was manager and he had Samaras up front not Haaland.

    Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

Then let's keep him till he is 80

    Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

I think we might beat Everton as we are at home. Should be 15 points from that lot in the league. But I reckon we'll get 9. Which in itself would be a relief after the recent shit show. I think we'll finish with around 50 points so should be safe.

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

This is nonsense. Haaland is a great striker but not a great fit for the way City play. Not sure what the thinking was.

    Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

I constantly defend Pep on the basis that with the same players Pellegrini would have won maybe 2 leagues in the time Pep has been here rather than 6. Same applies to Roberto. Pep's seen off Jürgen and Arteta. But the results recently have been shocking and the performance even worse. I think...

Aston Villa (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Watching Brighton playing with energy trying to take 3 points. Can't remember when we played like that.

You could say the same about Wenger, Mourinho and loads of others. They like players reach a wall.
