They’re just a bunch of killjoys. Criticising what every club who wins a trophy does but not recognising the role of Alex Williams and Tom O’Dell.

    Real Madrid (H) | CL SF 2nd Leg | Post-Match Thread

I’ve looked into a variety of options but it’s just not viable at the moment for me personally to fund it and it’s a very expensive book to produce in low numbers unfortunately.

    Real Madrid (H) | CL SF 2nd Leg | Post-Match Thread

It’s an expensive book to produce and many bookshops have no interest in books of that size, cost etc either. They want mass produced books that can be churned out sadly. Most local Waterstones wouldn’t even take the Peter Barnes biography I did which is odd because he played for both Manc clubs...

Sadly no publisher wants to do the book.

    Old Maine Road photos thread

Yesterday I started a new free feature on my website to count down the 100 days to the centenary of Maine Rd’s first game. Each day until that centenary I’ll be posting an image, feature or article on Maine Road. Some of the images are rare and exclusive while some will bring back memories or...

    Real Madrid (H) | CL SF 2nd Leg | Post-Match Thread

He might get a CL medal - 6 appearances for City. It’ll be up to the club but someone in that position would usually get one.

    Praise for Pep & City

You‘re right about playing catch up. Sometimes I wish we could do a form of depreciation on our spending that averages it out over the previous decades when we under spent and the club was run in to the ground by Swales & his supporting directors. Hopefully, tonight will see us take another...

    Praise for Pep & City

Worth remembering too that in only the last 3 complete seasons we've had 2/3rds the number of title winners they had in the decade of the 2000s and half what we had in the 80s and 90s decades too! But it's less competitive now they tell us. Obviously stats can be twisted lots of ways but facts...

    Praise for Pep & City

I’ve had enough of the negativity from the media and inaccuracies too. I’ve written a 2000 word piece (free to read so you may as well look) on competitiveness and praise for Pep & City. much of it is based on a programme article I wrote but hopefully most Blues will enjoy it or use parts of it...

Cheesey's Vlog - Premier League ruling

Thanks for the mention. I used to take my IPad into grounds to do tweets etc. and was stopped from doing that at the CL final, so it is the same for Europe. I tried arguing with them on the night saying I was a historian but it cut no ice with UEFA. There are already restrictions on writers...

20 years ago today - last game at Maine Road

Bernard Halford was petrified fans would try and take things and so orders were sent out to take things down. He decided the mosaics had to be taken down before the last day - at a pace that meant some of the pieces got damaged - and he wanted the post match stuff to drag on so that fans would...

20 years ago today - last game at Maine Road

Not one of mine. I did Farewell to Maine Road: The Official History of Manchester City’s Grounds. Probably thinking of Full Time at Maine Road. I’ll be posting some news on Farewell To Maine Road later today on my website...

    Hyde Road Stadium

This photo used to be on a wall at Maine Road in the Blue Room or the Exec Suite (I can’t remember which). It also had a small caption under it saying where it was taken and it definitely is where they stayed for an away game. It’s not Manchester. I wish I could remember where it was but I also...

Navy sock use is not so clear I’m afraid. They didn’t always register sock colours and black & white images make it difficult to prove conclusively one way or another. I have found examples of black socks when some have claimed they were navy and I think that makes sense, but proving one or the...

New director of football appointed for Women’s Team

Bardsley, Scott & Houghton are all brilliant, inspiring figures and I hope they all have a long future and connection with City. They are truly impressive people.
