I once had an old lady in a wheelchair thrown out of the ground. She had said to me whilst I was assistant "you look like the kind of man who likes kids to sit on his lap"

    Newcastle United 2024/25

Was at Newcastle yesterday. Expected the city to be buzzing, given it was also St Patrick's day. Whole city was dead. Although our local paper up hear does report they are planning an open top bus parade. Seems a bit excessive for the carabou cup but each to their own

Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

Just received a leaflet from our local Reform UK candidates. Not even sure what election is coming up. I assume it's the council. However, at the last election, the 3 candidates stood for different political parties. 1 stood for the Conservatives, 1 stood for Labour and the 3rd was for...

    Gigs Thread

The Mary Wallopers last night. Very poor gig. Sound quite muffled and you couldn't hear what they were saying between songs. Not helped at all by the amount of people who felt the need to talk all the way through. If you want a bit of craic go to the pub. When they did Wexford one very...

    TV Series

The 1 thing I didn't get was how the crime happened at 10.30pm yet the police had all the evidence to enable them to make an arrest at 6am the next day.

    Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

I noticed 1 throw in by the Brighton player who had both feet on the playing surface. As you say not 1 of Lewis's throw in was legal.

    Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

I noticed he played advantage to Brighton when 1 of their own players was laid in the box clutching his head. 1. It wasn't a foul, so why give the advantage signal. 2. I always thought you had to stop play immediately for any head injury???

    Tommy Tuchel's England squad | Nov '25 (p17)

Not even the Newcastle fans rate Burn. Say he only plays because of injuries. I reffed him when he was at Darlington and looked out of his depth then. Also reffed Pickford when he was on loan for Darlington. If you told me he would become a professional I would have laughed at you

Stupid little things that bug you

Haha. The thing is I have heard that since she retired she has now been diagnosed diabetic herself.

Stupid little things that bug you

A few years ago my diabetic nurse put me on a more healthy diet and told me I need to get fitter. She was about 5ft and about 20 stones

Man convicted of having sex with a Shetland Pony

A guy from West Cornforth in County Durham was convicted of the same thing. He appeared in the Northern Echo paper complaining that he couldn't leave his house without people making neighing sounds at him.

    Books & Reading Thread 2025

    8. Broken Light - Joanne Harris 4/5. Very much a book written from a feminist point of view. Most of book has men being evil and women all sweetness. However, that may be the whole point. Certainly made me think about my attitudes.
