I had to drop my son off at the airport at 5:30 this morning. On the plus side we witnessed a massive new section of roof girder heading down Ashton New Road towards the Etihad.

It's Solidworks so nothing makes sense with this software. Material is set to Carbon Steel and the software is giving a volume of 0.872m³. Multiplying this by 7850kg/m² give us the 6.8 Tonnes. The 3D model I knocked up is very rough with guestimated lengths but I reckon it won't be far off.

There's a slight kink in the side wall as can be seen in SS Skies great drone footage. The slope of the upper tier doesn't change at all.

The North West pinnacle for the top of the quad pod is on the ground ready to be lifted into place. It's massive! Looks like it's fabricated from 50mm thick plate.

Apologies. I took a pre-match picture to share on here so that people who can't get to the match can see how things are developing.

The view from my season ticket standing place last night. When the observation deck is up there it's going to look immense! Do you think City will let us watch a game from up there? You'd get an amazing view of the tactical battles, much better than being on row L anyway that's for sure!

The two halves of the roof beam need to be welded together before it can be lifted into position. I'm guessing that this is one of the two central beams as there's a lot of structure down at the far end where it'll support the roof walk structure.

@Coatigan can you please link to the document which has all the fantastic isometric views? (As detailed on page 188 of your previous reply) I've trawled through all the planning documents on the Manchester City Council planning portal but can't find it anywhere.

The beams on the left and right hand side of the Skybar crossmember assembly look temporary (only coated in red oxide paint). They appear to replicate the top uprights already installed on the two towers. It's going to be a challenge mating six location flanges up whilst that massive frame is...

I'm with DiscoSteve on this one. The cylinders align with new rainwater ducts coming down from the roof. They'll probably be wrapped in something more elaborate to finish them off.
