City trialling alcohol in stands for the 25/26 WSL

City will be joining United, Liverpool, Everton, LCL, Arsenal and Chelsea in trialling allowing alcohol in the stands during the 25/26 season. Looking forward to enjoying a pint during the match! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c77v7xd58kmo

    Sydney Lohmann

Yeah that pass at the end where she nearly put her teammate through was brilliant. Was disappointed to not see more of her this tournament but looking forward to seeing her this coming season. Bringing someone in with elite level experience in that.pisition was what we needed as we already have...

UEFA Women's Euros | England win final on penalties!

Think people really overstate how "bad" the goalkeeping is in the womens game and use any howlers they see to confirm their bias. I cant find any data beyond 21/22 season but male goalies in the Premier league were twice as likely to concede a goal thanks to an error compared to a WSL keeper...

I could watch this all day. As an aside, she's had cancer twice during her career and worked her way back to elite level. Seriously impressive footballer.

Really enjoyed that. No complaints on the red card. Regardless of intent the rules on that are pretty clear and if we must compare to the men's game we've seen them given for hair pulling in that too. Stupid from Hendrich especially as she was nowhere near the ball. First France disallowed...

UEFA Women's Euros | England win final on penalties!

Yeah, although tbh, I dont think anyone barring the promoted team in wsl seriously fears relegation either. A lot of clubs seem happy to do nothing with their women's team on th basis they know theyre better than the promoted team. That said, LCL coming will definitely give those teams...

UEFA Women's Euros | England win final on penalties!

No. Which is just something Europeans fans won't get behind. On the flipside they might argue that the the way players are traded and their playoff system means no single team donintesnnd you get different champions every season, so entertainment value in that. They've recently ditched the draft...

UEFA Women's Euros | England win final on penalties!

yeah, tbh i just prefer players to put their foot through it and see what happens. At least if you get a load of power on it it can still go in even if the goalie gets a hand to it. Obvs no kind of miss is ideal but i'd rather see a player leather one over the bar than take a timid one on target...

UEFA Women's Euros | England win final on penalties!

If you're in Manchester my mates have been showing all of the games at the Carlton Club on Whalley Range and the atmosphere has been awesome. Might be a bit of a late kickoff time to take her out for the semi but if england get to the final you should pop along with her

If she properly settles in Manchester, I think she's going to cook next season. Can't wait.

Sweden/Germany in the QF and Italy/Norway in SF UNLESS we beat Wales and Holland beat France by 3 goals. In which case we'd top the group and it would be Sweden/Germany in QF and then Spain/Switzerland in the SF. I think getting past Sweden or Germany will be a tall order tbh.

Yeah i think Casparij and Shimizu would be the RCBs.

Agree that we don't seem desperate for Beney right now but I wouldn't be surprised if a change of system comes into play under Jeglertz. Plus she might have just been signed as one for the future anyway. If we go three at the back and use wingbacks then Beney might end up being a better option...

Unfortunately I think this is a great signing. Think she will complement Russo really well. Only upside is I hope them spending a £1m on her means they won't go and buy the CDM they desperately need.

UEFA Women's Euros | England win final on penalties!

Totally agree. I think Toone isn't quite top drawer but she really gave the spine of the team a helping hand and made Stanway look much better. She's also had a pretty good season so she's earned her shot. Like you say, it freed LJ up too. It's sad to say but Mead is nowhere near the player she...

Oh for sure. Everything I've said about her aligns with what you're saying. Technically a generational talent but has displayed a suspect temperament at times. I was having a daft little jab at a few people who had said she's overrated, arrogant and just a show reel player.

Yeah she made that second look easy but you had two defenders sliding in to block. She couldn't have placed it better.

Usually not the worst the signal if theyrecon the bench watching though rather than receiving treatment.
