Kovacic is so solid I think he actually allows Foden to play centrally. Foden is a frantic high risk player and I think Pep has always struggled with that in the middle. I could see this midfield 3 being a stable on over the next few months if injuries don’t get in the way. Very balanced.

If that’s true then I could still see this getting over the line . It’s one thing having a player on your hands who wants to move but the buyers didn’t meet the asking price, another if they were willing to and then you change the price at the last minute.
