    High Blood Pressure

Thanks for your reply. Yes I’m fairly stable at present. The EU recognise the reciprocal health agreements between countries. It was the first question I was asked when admitted therefore I was glad I applied before travelling.

    High Blood Pressure

I’ve read all the messages and the OP has given great advice. Back in August I flew on holiday to Tenerife. It was a stressful day getting to the airport at 3am and all the walking that’s involved. On arrival I had just cleared customs and felt a crushing pain in my chest and intense pain in...

    Funniest/wittiest replies to a question

Whilst travelling from Manchester to Portsmouth in the 70’s I got off the train at Euston and made my way to the taxi rank. I was serving in the RN at the time and had my Navy hat on the outside of my suitcase. A taxi saw me and pulled up. I said Waterloo? He replied “The station?” I quipped...

    United Thread - 2023/24

De Gea saved most of the close in shots with his legs and feet - the jammy bxxxxxd. It was his distribution that was his problem. If Tent peg thinks he has solved the “playing out from the back “ conundrum by getting rid of De Gea I think he’s in for a shock.

    G P surgeries hiding appointments

My own GP’s practice has gone down hill ever since Covid without doubt. It is very difficult to see a doctor. Most of the appointments are FaceTime calls and then a trip to the chemist to pick up your meds. Recently I had a growth on top of my scalp. I contacted the GP Receptionist and sent a...

    MIdnight train service from Piccadilly

Yes - I remember it well. Used to get into Euston and then a taxi to Waterloo to catch the 05:17 train to Portsmouth back when I was serving in the Navy. Starting work at 0800 was fun!!

Who did you play with or against in school or youth football who made it big time and what were they like as youngsters

Mick Buckley used to occasionally play for our school team but spent most of the time away with England youth set up. Had a decent career at Everton and Later Sunderland. I understand he passed away at a fairly young age RIP

    City and West Ham fans

Back in the mid to late 70’s I was posted to Ilford territorial barracks to cover the Fireman’s Strike. On our days off I used to drink in the local pubs. Met many a WHU fan and they showed an interest in City and I was complimentary about them and some the players that had served each club...

Interview with Bill Leivers - the longest surviving FA Cup winner

I was introduced to Bill whilst attending Mauldeth Rd Primary School. His kids attended there and he was dropping them off in the morning. I’m pretty sure he lived just off Mauldeth Rd, but before Wilmslow Rd at that time. Nice man.

Any MCFC supporters clubs in Scotland?

Back in the day I sat behind a Dad and his young daughter. He traveled from Livingston on match days both for weekend and mid week games - I admired his dedication for travelling that distance to watch the blues.
