Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

My nan and grandad lived in Withington, whenever we played football with the local kids it was mostly City, certainly in the late 60s and 70s.

Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

Did this one time at Sunderland in the early 80s. Drew 0-0, kept in the ground for ages, could see the police trying to move Sunderland away from our exits eventually they moved them on. Once outside I lost my mates in the crowd, most headed to the station and coaches, I had to keep walking...

    Punk and New Wave thread.

I know some of the original line up of the I know most of the lads who played in this group, I was in the same.class as the drummer, David Ellesmere and friends with Steve Prescot who played base, Barry Taberner was a good mate of my brother, he played lead I think. They played at the local...

    The Cure night BBC2

Same for me, music and City have dominated the vast majority of my leisure time. I try to get to a gig a month if possible. Love the Cure, seen the 3 times, they are brilliant live.

What famous fans do we have?

I use to play football with Ollies grandad, around 40 years ago, his son, Ben was the big City fan in the family and obviously brought Ollie up to be a blue, good luck to them.

Bournemouth (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

The players generally seem knackered this season, it's hardly surprising looking at how many games they have played in the last few years, we have lots of injuries, I think this is probably a season we don't win the title, having said that I also thought that last year.

    Our best ever player

I was at those two games, The noise on the kings return was in marked contrast to the silence and dispare in the away corner at Middlesbrough,

    Our best ever player

I just loved David Silva, unbelievable ability, massive heart, brave, didn't miss many games through injury and proved he could do it, on a cold wet and windy night away at Stoke.

    Atmosphere 2024/25

I know the atmosphere has been piss poor at times at home this season but in terms of excitement, so have the games. That said, I have just watched Arsenal Liverpool and thought the atmosphere was appalling. Very quiet for a lot of the game from both sets of fans. At least during most big games...

    Gigs Thread

Yes in fairness, I preferred they Joy Division set, although we missed the first 3 songs of the New Order set, because we were told by security that stage time was 7.30 so we went for another pint, got in at quarter past and they had been on for 15 minutes.

    Gigs Thread

They just seem to do one off gigs now. No new material since mid 90s but 3 albums worth to choose from. They all seem to have regular jobs now so doubt they will make new music or do a full tour.

    Gigs Thread

I thought it was a great gig, caught some of the support, Junodream one of the best support acts I have seen in ages. Love the venue, but not the prices at the bar.
