    The Scottish Politics thread

Whether anyone likes or dislikes them personally the SNP have had in Salmond and Sturgeon the two most effective UK politians over the last few years or so. But as you say there is no obvious successor of the same calibre

Thank you to all who posted helpful posts and I have spoken to my sister and will report back after she tells me about her meeting. I expected some humorous posts so wasn’t over concerned except for Stephen230 who I had a high regard for as a poster which made me wonder if it could be true and...

    Prostate cancer

Yes, I’m not quite sure where it would become a concern, I’ve seen figures between 3 & 5 and it seems to be a bit age dependent. It has been between 2 & 3 for two years now. I take the view that until I’m told otherwise things are under control. So I can relax for 4 months until the next test...

I wonder if any long time City fans know anything interesting about a Scottish player who was on City’s books in the early 1960’s. I don’t think he ever played for the first team but Was a regular in the reserves alongside my late brother in law, George Greenall. Like George and several other...

    VAR Discussion Thread - 2023/24

Yep, rethink the laws entirely and explain what each law is trying to achieve; take a sensible view on margins of error and be open and honest in communicating and things will be OK! Perhaps separate var from pgmol.

    VAR Discussion Thread - 2023/24

In my eyes the biggest issue with VAR is that it has highlighted problems with the way the laws are constructed and consequently in the law makers and law enforcers. Previously it was possible to hide behind the “referee only has a split second to make a decision and only gets one view of an...

Mr Bates vs the Post Office

Depends, I’m hoping that there will be sufficient of a public / media outcry that the politicians will have to intervene and put pressure on for prosecutions.
