So another fabrication.

Luiz has been linked to City for a while, and probably was on our list.

But with Kolarov and Boateng signing I think our interest has faded. Chelsea are linked strongly now....especially as Carvalho wants to go. Hope Benfica don't sell him to Chelsea as he's a very good player. Benfica have got the Di Maria monies banked so I wouldn't have thought they needed to sell him.

To be honest, according to the Sunday papers we paid £18m for Barry, £47m for Tevez, £28m for Lescott, so £100m is quite generous if they're only talking about Balotelli and Milner :p

If we can get Balotelli in and Milner then surely with the rest of the money, we should really be going for a commanding Centre-Half.

I still feel this is a position that needs strengthening despite having Lescott, Kompany, Onuoha, Richards etc.

Lescott looked good before his injury and Kompany is good there but a bit worried if we get injuries.

I suppose Ya Ya can play there but would feel the team is complete with a decent World Class centre half!!

Anyone else agree??

Yes agreed but the term "world class" always has me worried, how many actual "world class" centre halfs is there out there?
I thought Kolo Toure was top quality but didn't seem up to it last season.

He is for sale, the club said if they get an offer they cant afford to reject it because hes in his last year of contract. Not sure for how much though.

That article was written by Steve Bates (a rag), who incidentally, is married to the daughter of David Meek the former United journo @ the MuEN.

I know Steve from back in the day, and he admitted to me on one occasion (many years ago) that if he had nothing to write about, he would just fabricate stories.

Not exactly a huge surprise there, but what I'm saying is that anything written about City by Mr Bates should be taken with a huge pinch of salt.
