This table shows how the Premier League divides up the money. The TV money is split equally. The Champions get prize money of £15.1m and the bottom club gets prize money of £0.7m. Taking into account all the income streams, City get £60.6m in total compared to Wolves £39.0m.

Facility Fees are broadcasting payments which is basically how many times you are on live TV/Radio/Net.

And this is why anyone who talks about Utd's financial situation by saying its all self-generated is right, BUT it wasn't like that before they started finding success in the 90s.

Prior to the PL income from prize money & TV etc. was minor, and Utd were 'fortunate' that their successes came at a time when the riches first came into the game. Had this all been in place pre1990 then Liverpool may well have reached an unassailable lead over Utd and the rest because of their successes and global image back then.

A reason why so many clubs were suddenly taken over in 90s & 2000s.

This is also why City will not need to worry too much about Financial Fair Play as success brings huge rewards. The rich have been getting richer in football since the early 90s and that's been wrong for the game. City found another way of raising funds, which now means that City catch United a lot quicker than... actually 5 years ago there was no scope whatsoever of catching United because of the riches they got from success. Now it's possible.

Let's be clear about this, we only got (roughly) £750k MORE for winning the league than utd got for losing it, and they got £750k more than Arsenal.

The real suffering comes for the teams who've never been in the Prem, or haven't since the parachute payments scheme started a few years ago.

The bidding war for TV rights soon that could feature Al Jazeera going head to head with Sky could push the price of TV rights up even more which in turn will mean more money going to the teams to combat FFP.

Read recently that being called "EPL Champions" for the next year is worth a cool- no idea when a figure becomes cool- £30million. Surely we can stretch to boxes of fruit pastilles now!
