I still don't understand the logic of potentially getting these 2 strikers in. Surely the combined transfer fee and wages would be the same as just getting cavani. And why not just get higuain for £25m.. Look at the stats of all these players we're linked with and they're not bad, they score around a goal every other game. Now look at higuains stats.. He's different class and only 25 years old. We need to hijack this deal from arsenal!

I'd guess because Pellegrini wants Negredo, not Higuain. He'll know both players well and has made his choice based on what he's seen and knows.

Good enough for me.

And once again for those in the cheap seats. Higuain is going to arsenal to be first choice striker something he is not at madrid and something he wouldnt be here, negredo and possibly osvaldo are coming to be third and fourth choice strikers respectively. I think the world has forgot we have aguero and dzeko on the books.

27 goals in 32 games for real when pellegrini was boss! Look at his scoring record for Argentina! If he goes to arsenal mark my words he will become another RVP and we'll be kicking ourselves for not getting him

But Dzeko was arguably our fourth choice striker. Maybe with different approach play he can be the player we bought but I think it's too early to assume he will be a first pick and that we need two back ups rather than a stellar striker.

Pellegrini knows Higuain very well, so I trust the fact he isnt trying to get him. I think the difference this year is that fact we are trying to sign players that fit our team/system, instead of just signing talented players that are not perfect fits. Negredo might not be the best striker on the market but in Pellegrini's eyes his "skill set" fits the position perfectly. Personally I much perfer this approach over signing a "superstar" (big name) and then that talent is never reached in a city shirt because the system or position he plays didnt match his strenghts...I would like to see a complete team instead of just 11 talented individuals..Negredo has different strenghts to Aguero and thats why I think they play perfect together.

Kind regards

Did you read my previous post ? Pellegrini will be aware of what Higuain did 3 years ago.
