“City Matters” fan committee

The constant personal, organised and deliberate attacks by FSG, LFC, Klopp, and their (paid) media shills on ‘our club’ over the years has taken a heavy toll on the patience of our fans.

This anti-City campaign by LFC has been organised from the top down and involves everyone from FSG down to their fan groups. How many times has Klopp referenced City’s wealth, spending, being state owned, etc in his press conferences? That has been the constant narrative used by Liverpool Football Club.

If some of you think City fans are going to forgive and to forget what Liverpool Football Club have done against City, you’re all mistaken.

This bad blood was started by Liverpool fans because City have stopped Liverpool winning 3 more PL titles. If City hadn’t done that, there wouldn’t have been any bad blood. Instead it would have been Liverpool fans gloating and taking the p*ss out of City fans. Which they still do at every opportunity when it comes to winning the CL.
Don't disagree with anything you say. Certainly not going to forgive and forget. But I think we are being dragged down a rabbit hole with this Hillsborough/Heysel stuff.

No matter what the clubs try and do, it won’t filter through on to the terraces.

Do the clubs honestly think 46,000 City fans and 6000 Liverpool away fans are going to take any notice of the letter?

The atmosphere will be toxic before the match with possible trouble, and during the match. The only reason there won’t be any trouble after the match is because Liverpool fans will be kept in the ground after the final whistle, just like City fans were at Anfield.
oh @jrb my sides are aching...laughing at that last sentence. :-) I'll believe it when I see it and I am not expecting to see it before Christmas.

I am not sure why City are trying to be conciliatory, we are not the ones who attacked a supporters coach, attacked and badly damaged the team coach, spat at our supporters from the second tier terrace or threw coins and spat at Pep. City should be laying down the 'law' in no uncertain terms to the people from down the East Lancs Road.
You do not stop bullies by kow towing to them.

The name of the chair person who attended the meeting should be listed in the City Matters section of the Official Website, unless it is a) not up to date or b) not even there

However the first place to look would be on the Official Site.
The last set of minutes are from October.

I'm actually looking forward to Thursday BECAUSE of the intense rivalry that's formed over the last few years.

It'll be loud and intimidating. Any scousers looking for trouble will find it by the bucketload.

I'd much rather that than us all going holding hands and singing kumbayah. As long as we don't stoop to their levels and physically attack anyone, then what's not to like?

The group/person who met with City Matters.

Formed by and from the Spirit of Shankly group. (hmmm)

On Wednesday 17 August 2022 Spirit of Shankly and Liverpool Football Club entered a new era of fan engagement with the launch of the Supporters Board – a groundbreaking move that sees fan representation at board level.

The Supporters Board will bring challenge, opportunity and renewed hope with the potential to define the future of our club and set an example for others to follow. Most crucially, it gives us the supporters a fundamental, legally binding role in Liverpool FC’s decision-making processes for the first time in the club’s history.

I agree with all of this.

But for all Liverpool's spin and their PR firepower, they still lose.

It's as if two parallel worlds run alongside each other.

One where Liverpool get to frame the argument and with their media friends onside emerge as victim and victor.

And then there's the real world where every football fan who's ever been to a match with them, ever sat in a pub with them, worked with them, engaged in a conversation about football with them, knows the truth.

So they might win minor skirmishes like this, but in the grand scheme of things they're serial losers.
Careful mate, you’ll have the scouse Barney Gumble on your case ;-)

Mark sits just behind me so I might speak to him on Thursday if I get the chance.

Can't find that Twitter handle at all, is it a legit account?

Those screenshots look more Facebook than Twitter I think. It does also mention it being a private group.

It is a private group for City fans, Mark keeps fans updated with things going on at the club and posts news on things going on with City Matters , he did indeed post the statement regarding the meeting regarding Liverpool and how underhand it all was .He also took it up with the club as he along with others aren’t happy that City matters look to be backing this statement , when indeed most didn’t Know anything about it .
