Nearly all the big managers have immediately adopted that tactic from Pep and it looks like Pep is already moving on from it. Unlike the others, he never stands still. He’s always ahead of them all. There’s never been a more influential manager in the premier league.Strangely enough Gary Neville thinks Arteta should drop his inverted fullback innovation of playing Partey as a hybrid full back/midfielder.
Perhaps he doesn't think it can work in the PL.

Yep he's already moved on from full backs in midfield. He knows well other teams adapt and counter what's gone before to try to stop us.
I expect us to be much more direct when playing decent teams with high lines and to use Doku and or Nunes as speed merchant weapons carrying the ball either through the centre or out wide. Well up our counter press to turn over the ball and go at teams. We saw Wolves do this centrally to United tearing them a new one.
