1 | James Trafford - 2025/26

Of course we can. Let’s make Trafford the best keeper in the world and develop him.

I don’t think donnaruma is the best keeper in the world either. He was great in the champions league, but he’s been quite average at times for PSG.
He was great during the euros when Italy won aswell but j guess we will have to disagree on this

Impressive!

Very calm and composed with the ball at his feet. That dinked medium length pass to Reijnders to set up the move for the third goal was Ederson quality.

Made a few good saves and came to collect crosses very well.

Donnarumma isn’t the best keeper in the world. He’s very poor at collecting crosses, he’s a flapper. Last time Trafford played in the PL, he had three times the amount of successful cross claims won than Donnarumma in the same season.

Donnarumma is also not great with his feet. Often just kicks the ball anywhere with no plan or reason why he’s put it there.

He does have performances where he makes save-after-save like Joe Hart at White Hart Lane in 2010, and from that everyone thinks he’s this behemoth in nets… but he’s not as good overall as he’s made out to be.

Thought he played well yesterday, he'll have much more difficult games than yesterday but all in all, he had a fine game.

Trafford is Better in the air & with the ball at his feet than Donnaruma, neither keeper will want to be a No.2 keeper, especially L Trafford now he has the actual No.1 Jersey

I've got a genius plan. Keep Edison and let Trafford have a year to develop.
Then let Edison go (into the sunset with our best wishes) and Trafford steps up to number one. i've contacted City with the idea. I only want a couple of million. That will be way covered by not wasting £££ on some suspect goalie who likes big wages... ;)

How do you offset the £10m transfer fee for Eddie?

Positives: looked remarkably confident for someone of his age. Knows what he's about, makes decisions very quickly and goes for them, no shilly-shallying. At the same time, not a dive-in-all-guns-blazing type in the way that Ed was in his early days. Sharp reflexes on shot stopping, and I suspect we've seen nothing as yet. He'll be more tested next Saturday — if he starts.
Negatives: when you're going to punch the ball away, you've got to get your fist on it like Muhammed Ali and get it right out of your area. It was only once, but he put it straight down onto the floor, well within the area, and not at all far from a Wolves player. A better team would have punished that. Liverpool, for one, would probably have had that in the back of the net. He was very good on the long ball for the goal — duly noted — but otherwise his punts up field were often to no-one in particular. And therefore to no-one, other than a Wolves player. I suppose we've got used to seeing Ed's freakish ability to put a forty-yard pass on a sixpence. But it is a freak of nature. Merlin could do it at will. So could Kev. But someone in nets??
Ed's still the first choice for me, and it would bother me a lot if he goes.

Deceptively tall - could see his actual height when Strand Larsen tried to bump him but he doesn't look a big lad.

Good shot stopping, kicking was ok, took a bit long at one point on the ball - promising and areas he'll improve on

I suspect that's the plan unless Eddie wants to go now.

The club would want to celebrate his last season and give him a decent send off.
