1 shot on target

We knew Liverpool wouldn't just lay down and hand us 3 points so at least we keep our undefeated home record in tact.

To be honest, I thought it was a more enjoyable game than the stats suggest. It was hardly a classic, but the priority for me was to see an improvement in the level of performance compared to games such as Hull away the other week. And that's what we got. The defence was much better than of late and it was good to see Zab and De Jong put in far better displays.

Obviously, I'd have like to have seen more attacking intent but it was just good to see a far more organised and balanced team.

It was no better than any other game under Mancini. Negative just doesn't describe it, I just want to erase that game from the memory banks it was awful.
Put it into contention with the games at home against Arsenal and Chelsea, both better teams than Liverpool, who are absolutely crap by the way.
Now that was enterainment, attacking football, incidents galore, proper stuff. Yesterday and lets be honest about it, every game under Mancini has been the same, negative.
Yeah but we won, he's new, doesn't know his best players, team, yada fucking yada.
One shot at goal at home, unreal. Unless Mancini can have a road to Damascus event bloody soon then more of the same drab crap masquerading under clever, tactical, good defensive displays.

Yes, we restricted Liverpool to one shot on target, good defensive performance by City.......

Why do people think we should be stuffing Liverpool? They have conceded only 2 goals in the league since Xmas and without Tevez we were always going to struggle to score.

Macini set us up not to lose and played an attacking forward line with 2 wingers, Ireland and Adebayor. Benitez did exactly the same with even less of an attacking line-up - two teams playing 4-2-3-1 is always going to end up being bottlenecked on the edge of each penalty area. Unless one of them hugely outclasses the other it's going to be tight on goals and scoring chances and although I'd say our team is better than Liverpool's now we aren't going to be overrunning them at will.

We played well yesterday but needed that spark up front, another plus point for me was the fact that now we can look at Liverpool and expect at least a point from games with them instead of worrying how much we are going to lose by as in previous seasons.

Lets face it, under Hughes everyone slated him because his team couldn't defend. Now we are to defensive, two very different extremes from differnet manager's with the same players.

May be, just may be, Mancini has come in and thought that we were leaking to many goal's and his priority was to shore up the defence, now this has been achieved he might start to look at the offensive stlye of play.
