Hey!

Someone else who has mentioned Styx.

I'm not alone after all.

Pomp rock at its finest.

Bingley Hall 1981 - great show.

I remember it well: I had broken my ankle in three places playing football and had my leg in a full length cast so me and the boys were allowed to go up on that balcony that ran around the cow shed and watch the gig from there.

Last saw Styx, supporting Journey (and REO Binwagon) on a cruise out of Miami in 2004 ..... excellent gigs ....

Saw them about three or four years ago supporting Journey and Foreigner at Wembley - most enjoyable.

First time I saw them was actually 1980, two nights at the Hammersmith Odeon; nestled in between four Van Halen gigs. Ah, those were the days.

Marillion - Clutching at Straws
New Order - Technique
Crowded House - Crowded House
U2 - The Joshua Tree
The Replacements - Don't Tell a Soul
Genesis - Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
Van Morrison - Astral Weeks
Steely Dan - Katy Lied
John Coltrane - A Love Supreme
Ryan Adams - Ryan Adams

JJ Cale - Naturally
Ry Cooder - Boomer's Story
Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac - Mr Wonderful
Little Feat - Waiting for Columbus
Augustines - Rise Ye Sunken Ships
Travelling Wilburys - Travelling Wilbury's Vol 1
Status Quo - Live (double)
Neil Young - After the Goldrush
Neil Young - Live Rust
Elmore James - King of the slide guitar

Hard to pick just 10 but these have all stuck with me for decades.

Women and Children First - Van Halen
Alive - Kiss
Rocks - Aerosmith
Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin
Aladdin Sane - David Bowie
Billion Dollar Babies - Alice Cooper
Yes Album - Yes
All the World's A Stage - Rush
Starz - Starz
One More From The Road - Lynyrd Skynyrd

Good stuff there OB1 ..... LOVE the 'Smiff's Rocks album too ... ditto the Alice, my fave of his/theirs along with From The Inside ..... And great to see Starz!

I copied two of them from your list ;-)

I love Queen II too but it was Sheer Heart Attack that made my subs bench.

From The Inside is a really good album.

Going back to the subs bench, these ten were all contenders:

Sheer Heart Attack - Queen
Definitely Maybe - Oasis
Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
Crime of the Century - Supertramp
Rising - Rainbow
Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
Angel - Angel
Grand Illusion - Styx
Live - Mott the Hoople
Band on the Run - Wings
Love that selection. So uncool it is cool.
