Didn’t see any thread in place covering this. It's a devasting loss of life, ten people killed in a huge explosion at a petrol station. The village only has a population of around 400, and most of the deceased were from the locality. My prayers are with the relatives of those who perished.

Knowing first hand how tight knit these small communities are, I can only imagine the devastation felt up in that corner of the island. Very sad.
Indeed. I live in that sort of community. Everybody knows everybody else, either through a third party or directly. They'll be grief stricken. It'd be not dissimilar to a plane coming down on Dickenson Rd market. Hugely different numbers, of course. But a similar impact on the local community.

Very hard story, perplexed at what happened. Rest In Peace to all the victims of this tragedy.

Thoughts are with Families and the community, well done to the cross border aid workers too.

A father and his 5 yr old daughter and a mother and her 14 yr old son, heartbreaking....RIP..

I witnessed a petrol station explosion in Nigeria many years ago, I don't know how many died but it wasn't less than fifty. It was an incredibly loud explosion, with a crater to match.

Absolutely horrific. I’ve been in that shop/petrol station plenty of times, my old man’s family are from the neighbouring town/village. My uncle was in the nearby pub McNulty’s when it went up
There’s a poster on here whose family are from Creeslough itself
Gas explosion still being blamed though of course people are speculating online about leaks from the petrol station, smoking, bombs etc
