10 Games In, your Thoughts?

Not clicked as a unit yet and scoring goals seems harder than last few seasons, some of this down to a shambolic pre-season.

Lost to Stoke (H) and West Ham (A) which are two games we normally win.

Enjoyed the Spurs game but we were fortunate to win 4-1 the scoreline flattered us, not enjoyed any of the others.

The derby was a great result but we made hard work of it.

Europe we are absolutely gash, lets just finish the group and forget about it.

If we don't get our act together soon we may well finish outside the top four.

Why did we get rid of Negredo,

It's not looking great tbh, but after the 6-1 how many rags would've thought they'd get within 90 seconds of winning the league that season?

Up to the second half in Moscow I was very happy how it was going. Since then it has been shite!

One thing for sure is that Yaya can't defend anymore, so the question has to be asked where do we play him.

For me if he plays then it should be in support of the front man. That means two players playing in midfield with him.

It will be interesting to see the line up for tonight.

Too many players strolling around unmotivated. Mentally not strong enough and possess no confidence.

20 points is ok ish with the games we have had but losing to Stoke at home in particular was awful and to be fair not undeserved.

In the CL we have been dreadful. I think unless we fluke it in the last two games it will ultimately cost Pellegrini his job because we have made zero progress and gone backwards. Regardless of the officiating, we were outplayed by Bayern, Roma for large parts and Moscow on our own patch.

Getting beat by Newcastle reserves was just the low of the season especially as it included an injury to Silva.

I watch Chelsea and I can't see them losing more than 2/3 games all season so it is going to take a remarkable run now to finish above them. Even though we totally outplayed them, we hardly created a clear cut chance and they were so solid defensively. They have also played us, rags, scousers, Everton and Arsenal including 4 of these away so not an easy start for them either but they have dealt with it and look strong.

If we don't improve quickly then I think even 2nd place might be a struggle.

Underwhelmed .

We didn't buy properly due to FFP and yet we seemed to have spunked half of the budget on a player for the future not for today.

MP appears to have taken the message about playing a brand of football as meaning playing the same way every game ie 442. I'm hoping someone explains to him that playing the same way every game and playing the same formation every game is not the same.....and is not what the owners want

A little tired of the apparent nonchalance in the city management ranks too, I would have preferred MP to admit that there are structural, mentality, and fitness issues in the team rather than just say 'we don't know what's wrong' but will try to find out.....I hope when he does eventually 'find out' it's not at the end of the season....

Overall a piss poor start to the campaign but a win today and we are still only 6 points adrift....I'll take that coming into a busy Xmas period and with the likelihood of no CL football in the new year who knows...

Looked at the fixtures before the season started and thought 20 points would be a good haul so no complaints. I realise we haven't dominated games from start to finish but we could easily have a few more points if we hadn't hit the woodwork so often.

It is the cups where we have shot ourselves in the foot. The Champs
league performance have been well documented but it is the hypocrisy of not giving a game to anyone in the EDS vs Newcastle that has disappointed me.

That said I have been around long enough to know that that using the term holistic is a sure sign of a bullshitter!! Before anyone comes back and says holistic means playing the same foation at every level - I don't think we are doing that either
You really thought before the season started that would be a good return as reigning champs, bearing in mind the fixtures you were worried abt were all at home except arsenal away

24/25 minimum i was looking for.....

And that is why you are really disappointed.

I feel we haven't played anywhere near as well as we can do, for whatever reason that may be but I still see us playing poor and sitting in 3rd place, call it small time all you want but if we finish 2nd again I will still class that as a decent season, a damn sight better than most seasons in my time supporting City.

We haven't hit anywhere near our top gear in any match this season.

I fear it is to be a carbon copy of the 2012-13 campaign. We need to look hungry and interested at least, some other factors will click into place if a few good performances on the bounce are put in.

Better than most seasons, but our overseas 'fans' will think it isn't good enough.
