He's had a lot to say about Jack. I guess he's being asked a lot of questions about him.

I think Pep's basically been saying "Jack's doing okay but knows he should be playing better", which isn't controversial and is basically what our eyes are telling us.

not really he is saying he is doing good and doing exactly what he has asked him to do and that he just needs to improve his finishing. That is a far cry from the people here saying he is having a bad game contribution, pep seems to disagree.

Pep isn't going to come out and throw his players under the bus publicly like mourinho would, I'd be highly surprised if pep sat there and said he hasn't delivered so far and 2 goals and 2 assists in 19 games isn't good enough for the 100 million pound man, of course he will back his man publicly, if sterling had put those numbers up this board would be calling for his head btw, there's already a transfer thread for sterling full of people happy to get rid of him as he hasn't delivered over the last 12-18 months.

To all the people saying he's out if position and he's actually a centre mid brought into to replace gundo or Bernardo ect, can you tell me when he's played in a 3 man midfield either for England or villa? Genuine question as I never saw it. If he isn't going to play in his ' proper position ' until next season as it doesn't look as though he's playing there this season, do we have to give him another 12 month to learn how to play in a pep midfield and not see the best of him until he's in the third year of his contract?

Pep didn't care if the player in question didn't get G/A in match, as long the player do what he asked even if team is losing. He will praise the players for doing what they have been instructed for, he rather losing or draw but the players doing what he have been instructed correctly. And Jack seems doing following what Pep instructed and he seems pleased so far. The goal and assist will come eventually, assist will be expected rather than goal because at the end of the day he will never be a good finisher even in his Villa day he never show that potential.

Pep will always defend his players in public and especially someone we’ve payed 100m for. He’s rarely going to look really poor due to having great technical ability but it’s apparent to pretty much everyone he’s doing nowhere near enough so far. Pretty certain Pep knows that too but it’s still early days for Grealish.
