Haha! Always a but with his critics even when he’s had a good game. Knowt queers as folk..
There’s nearly always a “but” with every player every week for me. If I can’t be balanced and see the good as well as what needs improving then I’m being blinkered.

Love his performance today.
Goal.
Red card.
Dribbling.

That’s a red card for Wolves. And one can hardly discuss that. Although they will. They as in media.

Personally I don't care G/A numbers except the player is a striker. I think that 20 years ago no one talks about G/A numbers except for strikers. Wide players were more judged on how much service they gave to the striker. Nowadays I saw some YT "experts" even compare G/A numbers of fullbacks and centre backs.... WTF....

Unfortunately rags and dippers will target Grealish because his price tag to hurt man city and try to squeeze their players into the world cup team. So Grealish has to get some status here and there. Remember he only played 2.5 PL games so far - created at least 2 very good chances for the striker and some "half chances". I am a bit surprised that he has not got any assists. If watching other teams, you can see a lot of other plays do much much less and get more assists...

Nah, when a player has been getting it from all sides for perceived poor performances then when said player has a good game it’d be nice to see those critics just acknowledge it without adding a but.

Really good game today

He just needs to play with that drive every time, the ability is there. He needs to not be so hung up on losing the ball. Look at KDB, it’s not like he creates assists or great balls EVERY time he tries. He loses it plenty himself at times, but it’s having the confidence and quality to try it that makes it come off plenty too and that’s what we remember. So instead of looking for the easy retention option every time which he often has done, Jack just needs to keep trying to create and he has the ability to.

I liked he was drifting into the middle of the park more and also getting into the box when we were attacking. Obviously something that’s been mentioned to him I think.

He’s been frustrating at times because you can see there’s a really good player in there but eventually you have to show it consistently at a club like ours. If he clearly wasn’t good enough, I wouldn’t even mind so much and I just say it is what it is, but I do think he has a lot to offer if he plays like today consistently.

good goal today...thats what Pep has been asking him to do since he got here...get in the box (scoring positions) more.

His first half performance was good and what it needs to be every week. He was actually probably the best of the main attacking midfielders today

He wasn’t particularly great. I thought the whole team was quite poor for long stretches today, including Jack. We were arguably as bad as we were at Villa but our opposition were very poor and we turned it on three times with fantastic play. Outside that Rodri was the only player who at some point didn’t either smash the ball out of play, to the opposition or lose it needlessly.

Grealish was better today but (I’ll never not have a but with anyone) there’s a way to go yet.
