Grealish is top of Statsbomb’s On Ball Value stat and that’s about as good as it gets.
Yes - with England it's obvious. No-one else is doing controlled, sustained forward motion, it's all about get the ball, rush forward, lose the ball, rush back. England have some good players but the tempo's all over the place. Then you put Jack on and he holds the ball and carries it forward and it gives everyone else time and space to move up the pitch. It is difficult to see in Man City because we are too good.
But if you look at England performance it is so obvious.
In the past year if facing a half decent team, England only has some what of the control of the game when Grealish is on the pitch.
It is just painful to see that he is not trusted with more opportunities.
