Yep, quality player. In the top 20 players on the planet this season. Add to mix he is English and £100m was about right.

What you have bear in mind is how many of those other 20 elite players haven’t moved and when players like Enzo are going for more and Anthony does for £80m… well…

*ignore Haaland… we lucked out with what could go down as the best piece of business in the history of the game… Dortmund are usually so astute in the transfer market, but they dropped one massive bollock with that release clause.
I completely disagree there mate. Think you’re looking at it arse about face

Haaland’s career has been superbly managed so far & without Dortmund agreeing to his demands of a release clause, he never plays for Dortmund, so I really don’t see any bollocks dropped at all

More that both sides agreed to something, which benefitted both parties

Sorry, I didn’t make myself clear, I didn’t mean the release clause I meant the fee required to activate it. It was too low.. surely it should have reflected the cost of a top player rather than a decent one. I mean £70/£80 mil must surely have been seen as reasonable clause to both parties? Not saying make it close to his ceiling value or even close to £100 mil for that matter.

I Just think the clause was a serious low ball, I mean players of the calibre that need one written into a contract should surely have one that at least closely resembles the value of an elite player in a few years time. It was about £25mil shy of what would have been fair and reasonable to both parties imo. Any big club would have still happily paid it whilst thinking they got a very good deal.

Imagine being told a year ago that Grealish would emphatically leap above Foden in the pecking order. But he has, to the point that Phil’s route back into the team is on the opposite flank. Jack has the left side on lock.

Agreed, it was extremely low, but so was his release clause at RB, meaning they got big Erl at a cheap £25m purchase

From what I can gather, no cheap release clause, no deal. He wanted his last move to Dortmund to be a stepping stone to another club of his choice, hence the low release clause is my understanding :)

Has anybody seen the video doing the rounds of the arsenal players getting pelters for all ignoring the young girl getting the jersey signed?

While watching it it did cross my mind about nearly all tunnel cams city put out jack always stops for a second to have a few words with the youngsters. Also the few story's that did the rounds with Jack offering up his executive box to a few disabled kids for games and stuff, shows what a gent the fella is and was brought up right. It's hard not to love the guy

I have noticed some of our players just walk passed to, I know it's an hour before kick off and players are in their zone, but a quick hello wudnt go astray would it

Makes me think of this story

For what it's worth I don't think the Arsenal players did anything wrong, they signed her shirt and I'm sure she got to interact with them at other points too.

Lots of footballers do stuff for fans and it obviously means loads. I think Jack is perhaps a little unusual in that he seems to do it on pure instinct with little or no thought of duty or appearances.

It does make me smile to think of him walking round outside the Etihad in the middle of the night trying to source taxis.

Could make a serious argument he’s been one of our best players since the World Cup break. Consistently great, sometimes unworldly. Mammoth fucking player.

Buzzing for Jack … playing in the championship at 23, and being this good in a champions league quarter final against Bayern 4 years later and being one of the first names on a team sheet for one of the best teams in the world .
