So a winger taking a shot is the reason we were getting ripped to bits for 25 minutes? That was nothing like his one against Bournemouth or Walker’s on Saturday. It’s all easy to say when slowed down and looked at but in real time he had a split second
Not just that one shot, no, but thats not what the article says. Pep has been saying for a while Foden needs to know when to slow it down to prevent counter attacks, imo it’s a reason he didn’t trust Sane previously. Foden maybe over compensated at the weekend, given time he’ll get the balance right.

That is what Pep said in the first interview after we bought Grealish.

Asked when he first thought he would like to sign him, the Spaniard said at a press conference: 'Years ago, when I saw him for the first time - but then it wasn't possible. You have the squad and we had to invest in other parts as those parts were weaker.

'But especially when I saw him on TV. I said, 'That guy controls the tempo'.

'I love when he has the ball. He stops before the dribble and all the opponents stop as well. He controls the tempo and rhythm when he accelerates and decelerates the action.

'Then especially when I played against him - the physicality, the special mentality of how he fought against the opponents, against our players, he said, 'I'm here'.

'I liked many things that we saw and that's why we tried.'

Hi Jack ;)

It seems he put on a bit extra pounds during the break? Perhaps needs to work out a bit. Personally dont like a dribbler to put on too much muscle.

Not a bad cameo after injury break. But still not up to the form he showed in the preseason. Perhaps need more minutes to find the rhythm. BTW he seems to have a good understanding with Gomez. Would love to see this pair more.

Done well, could tell he wanted to stay on the pitch tonight but think Pep wants to ease him back in.

Good performance for his first back from injury, think the chemistry with Haaland and Gomez will get better and better.

Another good performance, another good chance created for Haaland, another game with no G/A numbers to add.

Feel for him. He's having a good season and could easily have three assists by now.

I think playing with Gomez will help him, too.

It was noticeable that he Grealish did not drop back as much as usual tonight. Bernado and Gomez took charge of a lot of work in our own half tonight. At one point I saw he was moving back and wanted to fill the defending spot. But Gomez told him that he would take control and no worry. Very sweet scene. I think that teammates were helping out and very careful with him after his return from the injury.
